Aldershot have appointed Danny Searle as their new boss. Won 6 from 16 games at the end of last season after taking over from Hakan at Braintree. Thought they might have gone with someone with a bit more experience but time will tell Yes that's an odd one. When I think of Aldershot I still think EFL2 fallen on hard times and so still expect them to have that calibre of Manager, a name we all know.
Although I like the Shots, and I do think they are a club which should be at least in the NL, if this appointment means they might be more beatable for us in NLS, then game on!
I mean, who wants to take on a Manager who presided over Braintree getting relegated?

So, the clubs we are playing next season are: Aldershot Town Havant & Waterlooville Billericay Town Dartford Slough Town Chippenham Town Dulwich Hamlet Hampton & Richmond Borough Gloucester City Eastbourne Borough Hungerford Town Dorking Wanderers Weymouth plus 2 of: Braintree Town St Albans City Oxford City Hemel Hempstead Town plus five of: Woking Welling United Chelmsford City Bath City Concord Rangers Wealdstone Plus one of: Carshalton Athletic Haringey Borough Tonbridge Angels Merstham Taunton Town Metropolitan Police Salisbury Poole Town (I think) Nice and clear. Start planning your away trips now... Assuming this is correct - see my previous post re Gloucester - the worst case scenario, using AA Route Planner, is 3501 miles in total to, and back from, all away league games (from James Watman Way).
I believe this season was around 6500 with the previous one over 8000
Now we, allegedly, know the definitive list of the club's involved in this coming season's National League South I have recalculated the mileage involved. 2963.
Only five of our opponent's grounds are more than 100 miles away from Fortress Gallagher: Weymouth 166 Bath 161 Chippenham 135 Hungerford 104 Oxford 102
Whilst frittering away my time working this out I discovered that there are 11 clubs in this coming season's National League South that were there when we there last time. Of the other 10, 3 are in the National League, Ebbsfleet, Maidenhead and Sutton and the other 7 have dropped at least one level down.

So nowhere is more than 3 hours away so apart from a couple of midweek games there is no reason why we should not be able to fill a coach for each away game , no excuses this year. SUPPORT YOUR TEAM, SUPPORT YOUR COACH, SUPPORT TIMBO TRAVELS.
