HH is correct when he talks about the shambles of the club's player recruitment this season. But his job has been to make the very best of the players he inherited, plus he has signed an extra 3/4 players of his choice. Performances and results have been as depressing as ever. But I will be there tonight hoping for signs of those elusive unicorns

I’ve tried really hard to warm to HH, but I struggle to see past his damp rag personality. I think Tristan was the closest we had to Saunders in terms of being respected and having the players actually playing for him because they genuinely like him.
I get the impression from the fleeting chats I’ve had with players that whilst remaining professional, the enthusiasm for HH seems in short supply. JS and HH have been here long enough now and we’ve seen no difference. I’ll remain my final judgements in pre season and the start of next season when they will have no excuses, as it will be all their recruitment.

High time we had a different manager, it's been far too long.

Hi, Bees fan here. Gutted I can't get down to Maidstone tonight, I had been looking forward to this fixture all season but other events have got in the way. I am genuinely disappointed about your relegation. The NL is a hard league to do well in, but I did think that Maidstone would be at least mid-table. Mind you, I also thought Solihull would finish bottom, so what do I know? Tonight's game is going to be a bit strange what with John Still and Hakan Hayrettin at the helm for you and John Still's former assistant, Darren Currie as our boss. JS returned to Barnet at the beginning of this season and most Bees fans thought he was the man to get us straight back into the League. He was not and "retired" after a dreadful defeat away to Borehamwood. DC stepped up and has pretty well steadied the ship and we will finish the season in mid-table mediocrity. Wonderful!! I saw the game earlier in the season when Maidstone justifiably won 2 0. That game reinforced my belief that Maidstone would finish the season in a respectable position. What happened after that only you good people will know, but I really hope that you bounce straight back up next season. I'm hoping that Dan Sweeney plays this evening (he missed Saturday's game through illness). If you remember Dan was an unused sub in the earlier game between us. Since signing for us he has had a checkered time but this season he has been playing central defence due to injuries of other players. Generally he has played exceptionally well in that position but has been prone to the occasional cock-up. It looks like Dan will not be with us next season as it seems he will be playing at a higher standard. He has been fundamental in the Bees keeping seven consecutive clean sheets. The result of the game tonight is pretty meaningless to both teams. I expect many Stones fans will decide to give the game a miss, but I would urge you to stick by your club and just think positively for next season. Maidstone as a club do deserve to be in the top level of non-league football and I am sure 2019/20 will be your season.

If we play the same team again, it will escalate the questions about HH's competence, especially if JS is not there. We should expect to see those who the club want to keep, especially in games that are in effect almost pre-season friendlies against sides who have struggled all season like us. Barnet, Aldershot, Braintree and Chesterfield are all in that category, so what's to lose? There can only be a handful of players who are contracted for next season, so no point in playing them unless we want to keep them and if the squad is as unbalanced as HH says it is, then he needs to be seen to do something about it. Look at how Dover's youngsters played in the KSC. They lost, but had real spirit and that would be good to see here. Management would learn a thing or two as well. Or is that not blindingly obvious? Obvious to me, but not maybe to HH! Let’s see. For me Hakan hasn’t impressed at all and needs to if JS is going to handover to him next year as suggested. Like Nick I’m putting on my amber specs on to see our next year kids give the Bees the run around and get a result in front of 1000 at a push.

I was there when you guys played Brentford in the FA Cup and Sweeney was absolutely immense. He ran very hot and cold for us, but there was always a fantastic player in there somewhere and It's great to see him doing well. Wonder where he'll go at the end of the season? Think he's league one quality?

He us quality, though, in fact he was the National League player of the month for March.

Those who didn't rate him for us were the kind of people who only see the obvious. What they didn't see was that he played a kind of fulcrum role in midfield and virtually everything we did went through him providing a vital link between the defence and forwards.

I’ll be surprised if attendance is over a thousand, I’ve seen society rooms busier at 2pm on a Monday!
