You are correct-and a good player he is. really come on strong since christmas and in particular since JS has been there. man of match a couple of recent games.
maybe not national league quality, but fine at NLS i reckon .
would love to see him stay with margate

Now we are down and I’m bored I thought I would list our squad and give my opinion on them.
I will start with players on loan who I would not like to see sign for various reasons next year.
Henry, Cassidy, Taylor, Davies, Edabor
The squad by player.
LEWINGTON, yes please first choice keeper next year. WISHART, No thank you he is a journeyman who is good going forward but too easily bypassed. SWAINE, Yes please full contract showing he could be great in NLS. WDH, Believe he is under contract should eat NLS strikers alive, only get rid for transfer fee. DONNELLONS, Putting them together, both are Still’s signings so expect both to sign next year, however not fussed on either! WALTON, reminds me of Saunders in his last game as player manager when his legs had just gone. He should go and manage somewhere down the leagues. POWELL, No thank you, not going to get more consistent in the NLS and a luxury we can not afford. MULDOON, No thank you how he ever got a game for the Scum in league One is a joke! Our biggest under performer. PHILLIPS, Yes please he can play anywhere, but if he is too expensive we should not break the bank for him. TURGOTT, Yes please worth the money of two or three players, never going to play NLS though! EMBURY, Yes Yes And Yes please. RICHARDS, of what I have seen of him, Yes. AMALUZOR, Already under contract and will be a huge part of next season, he is a reason to be optimistic. STRIZOVIC, Yes why not as Lewington will need a friend in training! COKER, no thanks can’t get in the Dartford team before Players we ditched years ago! WYNTER, no not in any league! ROMAIN, No thank you, combine his effort and fitness with Powell’s ability and you have a Premier league player, but effort and fitness without the rest and you end up with a striker who does not score.
I think that list keeps the best we have and is a significant clear out to be classed as a fresh start.

McLennan - has he completely disappeared off the radar?

McLennan - has he completely disappeared off the radar? Had a little chat with him last night. Currently injured of course. I think he would do well for us next season but not sure he will be here unfortunately, things change though so you never know.

Probably a better left back than Wishart, but does seem to be rather injury prone so maybe not one we can afford to take a punt on.

Oh yes, so long since I’ve seen McLennon I forgot about him! One of Jay’s signings, replaced Anderson from last season. Didn’t rate Anderson very highly, but I would say McLennon was on par with him. John Still is going to have to go to a lot of games to scout a lot of positions!! Let’s hope he is watching more than one player per game!!

Pretty much spot on pieman although I like Romains battling and think he may do well against NLS defences, and I also like Jarvis Edobor and think LEO Donnellan should play more. Otherwise, very much what I suspect a lot of us think about the squad, with a few minor differences like mine for Romain and Edobor.

Looking at that list, there are an awful lot of gaps to fill at the end of the season! We appear to have the goalkeeper place covered. We may have our two centre backs, but only if WDH stays. Have to hope Phillips stays, as he can fill so many roles. Embrey and Amaluzor our wide men McLennon a wing back. Will Turgott stay?
By my count we might have 13 to keep for next season, but if WDH, Turgott and Phillips were snapped up by others, that only leaves 10, including two keepers and both Donnellans. On that basis we need to find 8-10 new players for a decent squad next season, or up to 45 (!), should we wish to replicate this season.

Surely Edobor will be going back to Brentford or did we sign him whilst I was asleep and missed it?

Romain is a strange one. Pretty good goal scoring record overall but totally dried up now. Not a NL striker any more but could still be decent in NLS.

I think romain would be ok in NLS, as a squad player, I think he might be here next season, hard working player, just needs to find his scoring boots

I read that WDH has a relegation clause in his contract.
So I would plan for him moving on to pastures new next season.
We will likely need to sign a CB or CM of captain material as well.

Ah well, out with the old, in with the new. You cant help liking WDH, a half decent player with a heart who scored goals as well, but was at fault with too many goals against this year. He could have become a Black and Amber legend.
Sure he will do very well at another NL club - just hope it isn't Ebbsfleet or Dover.
Do we know of others with relegation clauses? Hopefully all those we need to get rid of, but hopefully not Blair?

I spoke to WDH after Salford, he said he wants to stay, but inferred distance might be the sticking point as he lives in Hitchin. If thats the case, perhaps Borehamwood/Barnet would suit him if location is the issue. As long as he dosent join St Albans or Hemel!

I don’t think many will need release clauses as they are out of contract! I am not aware of any other players on contract for next season bar Embery and Amaluzor
