Not really thought about it. Could be something to do with the fact that we play the least football of any other team.
We hoof it, most try and pass.
Might not be that though.

If the plan is to come straight back up then I reckon we're all in for a shock. We've got some excellent players but little structure or composure. It looked like we might nick it tonight, until the last twelve minutes. Who are these players then?? last night out of our match squad of 16 I wouldnt class any as being even close to excellent. Other than Turgott and maybe at a push Wishart, none of our lot would get in the squad of a top team in this league. What we have is a group of mostly poor/inconsistent players who after this season will sign for National League relegation fodder or in the leagues below......something ''excellent'' players wouldn't be doing. Maybe "good" would be more appropriate: Romain, Cassidy, Robinson, Powell, Davies, WdH, Wishart, Paxman and Turgott. Phillips when he gets going.

1 win, 13 goals scored out of 17 home games, pathetic!! Anybody got any theories about our dreadful home form? I can't recall any club at any level having such an appalling home record in comparison to their away form, bang goes any theories about the pitch giving us any advantage. Anyway with relegation all but confirmed we may as well go flat out to win the FA Trophy. Clearly not.

Jesus Christ, were some of you watching the same game as me? Played some lovely stuff at times, midfield dominated an admittedly poor Halifax and we were the better side for 80 minutes. But!!! you have to take your chances and our shot count must've been in double figures even before half time. If we'd taken even a quarter of our chances then the odd mistake wouldn't matter, but they had about three chances and took one while we had about fifteen and only worked the keeper once. Just wow. Those glasses are firmly back on aren't they. Maybe it's because you like the manager this time around. Had that performance been under Wheeler I have no doubts your opinion of last nights game would be different.
Played some lovely stuff? At least 3 goal kicks straight out for throw ins, a foul throw, endless amounts of over running the balls to trickle out for a goal kick, the worst corner I think i've ever seen and a whole host of kick it as quick as you can syndrome. If that's lovely stuff then you got mugged off for that season ticket.
Take your chances? What chances? Cassidy had a shot blocked but what else was there? Their keeper didn't have a save to make. They had 2 one on ones with our keeper and hit the crossbar twice.

I am also surprised the term "lovely stuff" was used. It was the lowest form of football. We did have a good chance. Will DH headed straight at the goalie. That was it as far as i could see. They had "proper" chances , made through passing and stuff we don't bother with.

Dave U, my friend, I think you have borrowed Nicks Amber coloured specs and made them rosier than rose.......I didn't see any lovely stuff - not NL lovely stuff anyway - our midfield did not dominate and we were never the better team, just equally bad as Halifax with an equally random chance of winning. No that's not fair - their shots were more accurate than ours as Lewington (For goodness sake play him every week!) had to make saves and our woodwork saved us, so our shot count - even if it was higher (?) was way off target. I think you are on your own Dave. The constant heading up and kicking up of the ball into the air then a hoof in hope to the greyhounds up front was worse than our Ryman days and I kept seeing Shaun Welford on the end of those hoofballs upfield...........but at least then we had Flish to run with it. No, no postives other than we did fight hard and Lewington gave us some confidence between the posts, but does fighting hard count if its all hoof and hope? I'm even starting to question that, now. No, Dave, it was absolute pants last night and even a half decent NLS side could have beaten us. I am erring on the side now of clearing the squad and getting NLS players in for next season to have some fun in NL for a dozen matches or so before they knuckle down to getting us back up next year.

If the midfield were to blame for the Bromley defeat then surely the defence and strikers took that prize last night. A few players are left alone for criticism most games, but last night WDH gifted them a chance that only the goalkeeper coach stopped somehow when he allowed the ball to travel past him directly to their thankfully useless striker! Cassidy appeared to have a 50p head on all night with the ball just bouncing off it in random directions! Again effort but no quality. Romain had a couple of moments with some passing down the left, but was a headless chicken with zero quality. The new lad 14 looked like a Tesco value Turgott, but may well do a job in the NLS. Basically we don’t win games because we can NEVER get more than half the team playing well. Last two home games against Braintree and Aldershot I’m sure will be a masterclass in the best of the worst religated teams in the National league.........South the atmosphere and attendance will probably sum up the season perfectly!

I thought it was like many, many games at the Gallagher: some football played but too little and in places that were never going to worry the opposition. More than anything though, there was a complete lack of threat in front of goal. Maybe I was asleep but I can only count one real chance and that was WDH's header that was saved in the second half. Against a side as poor as Halifax, it was depressing and really the end of the season can't come quick enough.
As for the players, I never thought Amaluzor quite knew what he was doing most of the time and tried to get everything on his left foot, which became a bit obvious; Romain did his usual running around but was ineffectual because he was stuck on the left; Cassidy did well in the air but there was no one to pick up the second ball.

Get the ball, panic, wack the ball away. On no account look up first or try to pass to another player (at least not one in our colours). And definitely do NOT try to control the ball, bring it down and pass or run with it.
But, what's the point anyway, when we've got no one who knows how to score.

What we need to realise is these players just don’t care like we do! They will show up 3 times a week and have a little run around with some other lads that don’t really care that much either then onto a game or two a week where they run around for 90 odd minutes and then have a little chat in the changing rooms about what “could have been” following another defeat! Then off home to rest their tired legs in front of dancing on ice where they try and subdue the livid supporters with short tweets like “WE WILL MAKE IT WORK 💛🖤” or “TRAVELLING SUPPORT WAS AMAZING” #believe The reality is these players know they are at the top of their level and will never really make it to the FL proper! When we go down they will still earn about £800 week at some club at this level or the one below and afford the £300 a month on their leased car and rent on their 3 bed semi somewhere within a short drive of JWW. Players that actually car are rare as rocking horse poo! Look at Lewis who went from trying to do our legs in the play off final with Fleet to dancing in the Genco stand to his own bispoke song to then suddenly falling in love with Dover! Players are human and embrace the ego trip of fans cheering for them. I believe John Still has genuine affection for the club, which is just as rare, I’m not sure it’s as much as the the previous JS, but that ship has sailed! The heart has gone from the squad, but we have a good chance next season with our set up and Still at the helm. We just need to keep turning up for the last few games to keep the money for next season rolling in, last nights attendance was proof we have the best support in non league. Good post. Looking back, this season was lost when Jay accepted the Macc job, then changed his mind. From that point onwards, we were going down.

Totally agree with this post. Interesting you mention Wheeler as on our way home I actually said you would have thought Wheeler was still in charge if you watched that game! 😔

We train on 3G as NL "pros" more than ever, so we should play on it even better than we do on grass. The problems go much deeper than that. It seems that JS wasn't brought in as this years NL Messiah but next years NLS rebuilder as this squad isn't committed to MUFC but has been cobbled together after Jay ran out of ideas and the Dealer decimated what he left behind, ripping the heart out of the Stones. We now need to look at good and on the up Bostik Prem/NLS players who would be chuffed to bits to get to play for us and give us a good NLS season next year, then if we get promoted, try the whole NL experiment over again, but in a different way.

Interesting you mention Wheeler as on our way home I actually said you would have thought Wheeler was still in charge if you watched that game! 😔 That was my thought too - it was a HW hoofball performance. The fact That Hakan thought there was any quality last night also raises the ghost I saw when we hired him that he was just another Essex boy in the Dealer mould (just Braintree not Ricay) and sadly his comments last night may show that - unless he was blagging for the cameras to try to put a positive spin on it. I hope he was, because although we could do without being blagged (Ghost of the Dealer rising again!) we need our coach to see when we are cr*p if he is going to coach us to NLS success next year. A statement to fans from John Still on last nights debacle may not go amiss, even if its brutally honest!
