Somehow, I am having difficulty in seeing the phrases 'Lucrative contract' and 'Maidstone budget' coming together when applied to Carl Jung's concept of word association. Or in this case phrase association, if my grammar is correct, which it probably is'nt. Innit. It's better than your typing. Is'nt it? i woz bein dahn wiv da boys bruv. yer nahs wot izzze meen. Innit. BY Jove, I think he has got it.

As yet no confirmation of our website. Should that be a concern?

Maybe you are right but at the end of the day it is the total value of the deal that matters, not whether you are paid for 44 weeks or 52 weeks. Anyhow, I understood that Stones players are given a choice how many weeks they are paid for, with the total value being the same whatever the choice. Cassidy still needs to prove his worth by scoring at least in a 1/3 match ratio in order to secure a lucrative contract for next season. Dear dear Nick, stop looking through a glass darkly - we were starting to believe that we didn't have the money or were attractive enough as a club to sign any kind of decent striker...........and then we get Cass back - that's brilliant! Also now that the team seems to be actually playing a bit more now, I am sure Jake will get the service to hit your goals to game ratio criteria! Its a brilliant signing and I am sure he will deliver all the time he is not just another racehorse chasing hoofballs like Romain and Robinson, but the signs are good under JS and HH that this wont be the case. I think you have mislaid your rosy coloured specs..........but even lightly shaded amber ones will see having Cass back is all positive. COYS!

Nick maybe you or your friends should contact the club ASAP an ask them what are the expectations they put upon JC for the remainder of the season in relation to goals per game. Also whilst on the telephone can you clear up the amount of times per year a player is paid. God we are lucky to have you here.

Sorry if I 'sounded' anything less than wildly optimistic about our soon to become dynamic goal scoring machine, Jake Cassidy. Just annoying that the facts don't back it up. But like you, I think he's an excellent signing, really pleased. Giiven the mixed messages going around about club finances and Jake's wage demands, the financial negotiations must have been pretty interesting. Disagree with you about Domain and Robinson, both look decent to me. Be good to see JS getting the best out of them.

Sorry Nick, I couldn't resist it after you have pulled me up for being moanie old so and so, lol! Yes, we may be getting over hyped about Cass, but that's not necessarily a bad thing after all the doom and gloom! My comment about Romain and Robinson wasn't a criticism at all, I like them both, and by racehorses I meant it as compliment in that they just run and run and run - which is great - but my point is that they both have it in them to be much better - and score goals - if the team plays more like it did at Salford and pass the ball to them rather than hoof it for them to chase aimlessly. It will be interesting to see who out of Elliot, Jake R and Jake C will turn out most valuable to us if overall the team is giving them good service on the ground and the right balls to get them in the box to score. The mood is changing on and off the pitch and hope is getting stronger for a miracle. COYS!

Think Cass just seems to lift the rest of the team with his fighting qualities. Borehamwood incase. JS and HH in 2 games seem to have a shape and strategy. Still think 3-0 at Leyton flattered them.Going by last night. Solid defence obviously is the key. If Robinson and Cass can hit it off up top and Powell, Pax even and Phillips playing in midfield now. Walton being the old head. Turgott still to come back. Who knows. Don’t think it’s a lost cause yet. COYS

I thought there was something about not loaning a player twice in a season. Is this a loan or a full transfer? Interesting comment. Macclesfield Town signed a player called Dawson recently to then discover he had already played for two different clubs this season and apparently cannot currently include him in their squad. Some of their supporters are concerned that Mullins may fall into this category also having already been on the books of Maidstone and G & R this season

I'm sure those responsible for signing players at the club are well aware of the rules. Also I wasn't aware he'd played for Guns & Roses.

Getting back to Cassidy and his signing/loan/wages/whatever.
We need a bit of a reality check here - he joined a fully professional EFL club, presumably for the sort of money you would need to finance a family and a mortgage. And he lives locally.
I doubt very much if we could match that sort of salary, especially taking into account his additional costs of living down here and travelling home. And we certainly couldn't pay him the sort of money that would enable him to move down here (compare Hartlepool house prices to Maidstone ones + the cost of moving). And, anyway, there's no way he's going to move down here, even if he could, given the insecurity inherent in any footballer’s career.
I'm afraid the reality of the situation is that he's only ever going to be a short-term loan player with us.

Just listened to Cassidy's interview after the Salford match. So obviously the right attitude and sort of player we need at the Stones. To have any chance to keep him for next season we need some home wins, better attendances that accompany home wins and not get relegated to National South. Simple enough. Over to you Mr Still !

Easy peasy - win every home game, always score at least three to offset the one or two silly giveaway goals, in front of 3,000 deafeningly loud fans at JWW, mid-table finish and Jake Cassidy new top scorer. Seeemples!
