It was common in the old industrial days to connect parts of the same works on opposite sides of a road with a bridge or tunnel, so perhaps there are. That part of town had a lot of breweries and other factories/warehouses, not just the shops we are used to now. If memory serves, it was the centre of the famous Maidstone Gin distilling industry.
