We are not down yet, still plenty to play for but we desperately need t9 get on a good winn8ng run very quickly to stand any chance. IF we go down then yes let’s (a) have a decent EXPERIENCED manager in place and (b) IF we could hold on to most of the better players we have now then we would stand a very good chance of bouncing straight back up.

We are going down. We aren’t capable of putting the run together that’s needed. We will win a few, I am sure, but we need to Be winning every other game.

16 games left - 25 points needed. I'll let someone else do the maths, but it's not a nice number.
Absolute minimum number of wins is 5 - but that needs 10 draws (i.e. we can only afford to lose one game). Every extra win needs three less draws. 8 wins and we only need one draw.
Easy. Well, at least the 7 games we lose will be easy.
Anyone on here seriously think we're going to manage that?
Incidentally - 25 points just happes to be what we've managed in the entire season so far - over 30 games.

Good effort today and apart from their goals and result we played well. Just watched Simon's interview - honest clear and clear thinking enough for me to say - Give him the job for the rest of the season and to build for next season. A new manager now will not save us - Simon and Triss need players.

No doubt we are strong odds on for relegation right now. But you know, even though we got well beat today, at least the team played real football that was decent on the eye. So much better and enjoyable than the ridiculous hoofball we suffered under the clown. Yes I know we lost and it's all about winning. But personally I'm happy enough for Tristan and Simon to see the job through to the end of the season. The idea that a 5th managerial appointment this season will somehow do the business is a fantasy. Not relegation candidates just yet Nick. Since the Stones seem to be unable to win at "The Dealer's Fortress Gallagher" and the teams away form is far more impressive all we need to do to is win the remaining 9 matches on the road - no worries ? Nice to hear that at least the team are trying to play football again now ! Judging by the post match interview a management change is imminent ? COYMFS

Of course, my analysis is a little simplistic, as it doesn't factor in the impact of games where we play other possible relegation candidates (like the last two), and, of course, if we win those '6 pointers' (like we haven't done for the last two) it makes a big difference.
But we've only got four of those before the end of the season, and three of those are the last three games. The other is H&W - currently on fire, and the one team this season that has really given us a thrashing...
OK, so we might manage a great escape with those last three games, but I suspect it will all be academic by then.

COYMFS This is the one hope that we have - doing better against the better teams, and winning away. We have yet to play Orient, Fylde, Bromley (!), Barnet, Solihull, Wrexham, Fleet, Harrogate and Salford. Win eight of those and we're safe... It's a thin straw to cling to - but the only one we have!

Phillips can f**k right off. Was subbed off and chucked the shirt on the floor like it was a dirty tissue. Phillips was one of our best players, put everything into the game, and was just mad at how the score was going. Perhaps you should take a look at your posting performance. Ask TL what he called him then after he did that. I await your reply

Questionable starting selection (still no Richards??), and poor subs (still no Richards!) today. He may be a nice guy, but I don't think Lewis knows what he is doing.

The current management have been in place too long and its got a bit stale

The players should take turns being manager, from one game to the next. Whoever achieves the first win gets a three year contract with no break clause. In fact, give the fans a go as well, with a free pie hut meal box as wages. Can't be any worse.

One piece of stability that will remain at Maidstone United is that, relegated or not, I shall continue to appear a few times a season and make regular contributions to this board. All of this with the NWS hallmark of quality. See it is not so bad.

I agree to an extent that it was a good performance in terms of work rate and creating chances but, at both ends of the pitch, the team are so badly found wanting. Say what you like about them looking ordinary and not looking dangerous in front of goal but all three goals were defensively shocking. I think enough has been said for the first two goals but the pass back to the defence from Tajbakhsh for the third was atrocious.
Plenty of chances created but the finishing was so abject - I can't remember Justham being forced into a decent save after the opening ten-minute salvo. Romain has hallmarks of being a threat in front of goal but he looks like he's sorely lacking confidence and that showed with that one-on-one chance at the start of the second half after doing so well to race past Smith. Philpot and Robinson - what do they offer? Good at chasing down balls and running in behind but neither of them have any sort of speed or strength or finishing touch to be the missing piece of the jigsaw.
I feel for TL and SW given how unbalanced the squad has been left in Wheeler's wake with no real width, pace or target man to try and build the team around but there's a real lack of nous to this side as well. After Dagenham figured out that all three of our chances in the opening ten minutes came from the right hand side, we just seemed to run out of ideas, putting in poor crosses which were meat and drink for Clark to head away. Their right-sided centre-half Onariase had a torrid opening 20 minutes but there were no attempts to try and isolate him and put him under further pressure. And the amount of throw-ins we had which were taken far too quickly with players eventually being crowded out and leading to nothing - it's not attractive but why not push the two centre-halves up, opt for a long throw and try and cause some havoc in their penalty area?
We were the better team today but it's miserable when you can say that but you're still on the end of a 3-0 defeat. I will say there was the most blatant handball I've ever seen inside the penalty area from their defender Onariase in the first half and somehow the referee gave a free-kick the other way. A very small crumb of comfort otherwise.
