Was the tweet really that damming ? I sense you are probably right, but I'm not at all sure what has gone on.

I think you are mixing up Rob Swaine and Sean Sheilds. Sheilds was on loan from Ebbsfleet (just ended I think) as was subject to the comment you mention above - Ebbsfleet want silly money and we won't pay it, but it sounded like negotiations are still open ; I did though also get the same drift as you that there might be someone who can do the same job but for less money. As for Rob Swaine - he is actually on a Stones contract. I don't think I saw him today (but I could be wrong??) He was available for selection on Saturday following his Boxing Day red card being chalked off, but when not selected (not even on the bench) he apparently made a controversial tweet (I didn't see it before it was deleted.) Reading back to his signing he definitely seems to be one that "came for Harry" so I wonder if there has been a falling out since HW's departure? I will be very surprised if we see Swaine again............ We didn't exactly see a lot of him even when Harry was selecting the team.

Swaine on Twitter today states he is looking forward to a good session in the gym!! Before he arrived I was aware of his reputation as a good defender at this level! When he played away against Fleet his passing was terrible, but was good in the air. In his joining interview he professed to being “quick for a Big Guy” got to be honest I didn’t see any evidence of that. It does leave us suddenly light in the CB position with Finney gone, Wassmer back to Woking soon and Swaine now no where to be seen! Walton and WDH at CB could be good, but no depth again.
I presume we are not much worse off money wise having not employed a new manager yet. Walton and Lewis already in the books. I hope Wheeler was not paid off in one go, that would have been a Big hit!

Basically implying Lewis is a snake for trying to get his mates former job.
Can somewhat agree with him to be honest, I've always thought when a manager is sacked his assistant should go with him as well. Specially when said person was brought into the club by the former manager and played a big part in the former regime that failed. So how can he stay and now act like he didn't agree with everything the former manager did??

After Harry's shambolic run as manager I can't see anyone giving him another chance anytime soon.

I am reading that Jamar Loza's loan deal to Woking expires on 5th January. Crunch time. We either call him back or he leaves on a permanent deal but what should the club do ? I'm guessing that most supporters would like to see him back in the Black and Amber. Nick without wanting to be a pessimist let us not forget that prior to Loza going to Woking he constantly failed to cover himself in glory. Yes he,s rediscovered some form but in lower leagues he may still struggle up against the big defenders we come up against week after week. Couldn't score, couldn't pass or cross. Great dribbler, usually into a corner post. Shields is far better. I thought DSY could have been given longer.

Loza is in good form and we can’t really ask for mor unless they find a better alternative. DSY had plenty of time, two seasons in fact. Second season he was awful and has now gone two leagues below..

I agree - none of us know what the dynamic was behind the scenes...whether Harry made all the decisions without consul, or whether it was a full management team democracy. All I know is that if I was in Lewis' position after the first Dover game then I would have taken the chance too. And on the basis that things seemed to be improving, I'd throw my hat in the ring for the job permanently. Wheeler was the manager and as such has to be held responsible in the absence of any other information. On the face of it he has to take the responsibility for signing the wrong players, playing the wrong tactics and failing to engage, in fact actively disengaging, possibly even alienating the fans. That's an obvious exit route in my book.
