I am more in the Freudian corner myself. This does not come as a great surprise...

It seems that there is big money being pumped into Scottish premier league football by SKY and the rules are being somewhat changed. As from 2019/20 the runners up Rangers will play runaway winners Celtic in the best of 9 games the winners will then take on the losers in the best of 11 and the winners will then name one player to take on Fort William for a place in the anglo-scottish -Welsh paddy 3G fest at Gander Green Lane the winners of which will be knocked out of the Champions league 12th Qualifying round by Dynamo magiciankov playing on a field full of cabbages.

Don’t that happen now

It is difficult to compare the two, especially when you get down to Lowland/East of Scotland level, and when you add in the junior* and amateur systems it gets more complicated.
It will be interesting to see how the senior East of Scotland League pans out now a load of East of Scotland Junior clubs have joined, and as it stands the average position for last year's senior EoSL is 9.46, whereas the ex-junior (+1 amateur)occupy an average of 5.76th place, in three equal status leagues of 13
*NOT u18, u21 or u23, these are junior as in not senior but with set ups that will put many senior clubs in the shade

And the fact Scotland runs three different and almost completely separate league systems does not make things easier

I have had the pleasure of visiting precisely 18 football clubs ranging from Celtic at the top to Dalbeattie Star and Fort William at the bottom end and thankfully I have had no occasions of violence or sectarianism at any of them. Some of the grounds are very poor and you can see why clubs cannot attract big crowds and some of the football on offer is tedious to say the least but my hat comes off to the supporters of Fort William a club found at the bottom of Ben Nevis as well as at the bottom of the highland league. In fact I cannot think of any season when they have not finished bottom and this season they already have -8 points and I cannot see them reaching 0 points by the end of this season. Five months on from the last post and Fort William have now amassed -7 pts and conceded 227 goals and you think we had it bad.

Well with just one match to play Fort William have finished bottom for the 17th season in their short history and it's also their 27th bottom 3 place in just 34 year's and you think we had a bad year.

Further to the above the East of Scotland Senior League took in a load of junior clubs last summer
They made up three equal leagues, with the top six of each forming next year's premier division
Of the 18 teams, 16 are former junior clubs
Linlithgow Rose have a ground that would put many lower league Scottish grounds to shame

They may not be relegated, they play the winners of either Cove Rangers and East Kilbride (1-2 after first leg) for their league place.
Only once, in I think about 5 years, has a team lost it's league status (East Stirlingshire replaced by Edinburgh City)
IF they do go down they will join the Lowland League, there are a couple of other clubs nearby and some in Edinburgh, which is about 10 miles closer than Newcastle

Crowd of 1,115 for this game, showing a passion for play off football and a confirmation of the appeal of the pyramid structure. twitter.com/CoveRangersFCFull Time 3 - 0 . Play Off final Cove v Berwick - first leg @ Cove's Ground ( Balmoral ) next week end. Given Berwick's really poor form this year, a golden chance for Cove to reach the SFL and boost the standing of football in the Aberdeen area. A few lagers being sunk in Aberdeen this evening I'd imagine.
