Listening to his post game interview he sounded like someone who's totally run out of ideas. He clearly has run out of ideas. The team reflected his touchline demeanor... Not interested and no ideas! |

So basically are we are stuck then with Saunders for ever in some people’s minds? Teams evolve right ? 15 on the bounce say he’s not quite so good as some reckon. If we go down he should go. Yeah he is shit isn’t he. 3 promotions in 4 years was pure luck. It is embarrassing that the 1st sign of trouble then people’s answer is to sack the manager. Hasn’t his previous years performance earned him a bit more loyalty from us so called fans? Are we really that big time that we want to emulate the hire and fire approach of premier league? How thoroughly depressing. He's done amazing things for the club. As you say 3 promotions as well as overseeing the most financially stable we've been in for quite some time. Bringing the Stones home and building one of the best support bases in non league is all down to the success we had on the pitch. The problem is he's out of his depth now. This level highlights his inexperience and it's painful to watch. I'd assume Nicky Southall would be there to lend his experience but he looks as clueless to finding a solution as Jay does. Last season he got new personnel in via loans and it worked for us. This year the slump is worse and he's attempting to do the same thing. This is the plan for the next 2 - 3 seasons? When things go bad just get new loan players in? His tactics are Ryman level (possibly National South), this is holding us back and is the biggest cause of concern for me going forwards. If we don't win with hoof ball tactics, then we don't win at all. |

Jay Saunders sounded pretty depressed today in his post match interview
again there was a disappointing team performance with players at both ends of the pitch not doing the business
trouble is in a way his review of the match sounds just like the thoughts of a lot of supporters, including me !
very difficult to disagree with his summing up, he's a very honest guy who rarely goes ott
no kidology, no chocolate box phrases, no promises that things will get better next Tuesday
but disappointing to hear some voices on the forum calling for the owners to sack the manager
in my book Jay has shedloads of credit in terms of what he has achieved season after season
and as soon as we hit a sticky patch then the answer according to some fans is "off with his head"
madness !
pretty sure that supporters outside of this forum are keeping the faith and rightly so
happily I also have a lot of confidence in the integrity and common sense of the club owners
