Yep - that pretty much answers the question. We CAN throw matches. And we aren't even subtle about it.

Posting stuff like this after a poor performance, even in jest, is probably not a brilliant idea unless you want the club investigated. In fact speculation about throwing matches on a public forum really is about as stupid as it's possible to get.

Blimey it won't help that I said we would lose 4-0 prior to the game after people were telling me that Borehamwood have only scored 4 goals away from home all season, I didn't put a bet on it....just in case your interested it was 66-1

We're not ready to go up for at least a couple of years - either on or off the field. Light years ahead of a year ago when North Ferriby's results were of concern, though.

If only I lived in a world where that was even close to being "as stupid as it's possible to get".
Yes, we played like muppets and got soundly beaten but its still only a game of football.

I was talking about the suggestion that we might have been so bad deliberately. I know it's meant in jest but there are clearly those in the league hierarchy who don't really want us here with our 3G and will be looking for any means to achieve the double relegation they seem so eager to impose on us. The last thing we need is to give them ammunition by suggesting, even in a lighthearted fashion, throwing matches. I have no faith in the blazers that run the national league to do the right thing unless they are left with no other choice, and even a joke might be enough leverage for some of them.

I understood your point - might even have some agreement with it. I was going to say that surely the individuals running our national sport aren't that stupid to take forum postings seriously, but then I thought better of that.
However, even if they were, its still only football. I was trying to bring some perspective as there are far too many other things happening in this world where stupidity adversely affects real people and their lives for jesting on an insignificant football supporters forum to be "close to being "as stupid as it's possible to get"."

Surely Dave if the blazers do not like us and presumably do not want us to be in a promotion spot they would welcome news that we are throwing matches to make sure that doesn't happen :-)...

Which we're not Absolutely. Never crossed our minds... As for living in a world where it's as stupid as it's possible to be, I think we are well past that...

See what you mean, but I was really talking about in the context of this forum. Even my spats with NWS pale into insignificance in comparison. Currently in the town hall hoping to see another piece of stupidity overturned.
