Presumably, the new stand can be segregated proportionally, based on likely number of away fans attending? A space about three metres square for BWood, up to a full third for Orient and the like? However, behind adjacent to our Kop is much more intimidating that being at the other end of the ground so ultimately the Town End should be the away end and the sooner a proper study is done on how to make that happen, the better. Put barriers between the toilets and sweet shop, and in the Town End towards the Spitfire Lounge. If necessary, also give visiting fans the Riverside towards the halfway line. The only way from the Spitfire Lounge to the new stand would be past the new stand, and on top of the safety issues already mentioned, the barrier to allow the players on and off the pitch would cause a massive hold up of fans here.

I don't think that this is a knee jerk reaction from the club though.
I think that they have looked at the ground and safety features, entrances and exits along with safety steward and the police and decided that unfortunately this is the best solution.
Like others have said, the actions of a few have caused upheaval for the majority.

If we want to get to the football league we need to run the club a bit more professionally and this along with going full time etc is the best way.
Some of our fans especially on here have got their head in the sand thinking all away supporters are friendly and that they should be given preferential treatment.
Yes 99% can be fine but there's always the risk of the 1% who ruin it. But that's how it is.
We aren't playing in the ryman and kent league anymore. This league and the ones above contain real football clubs and fans. No matter if they are Guiseley or whatever it takes one idiot to ruin it.
We still have decent space when the game is segregated anyway. All games are segregated in this league basically so whats the problem?

If there was another club house within the EE plus extra exits and turnstiles from behind that end just maybe useing the players tunnel as a dived the home and away ends could be swapped given away fans half or all the townend plus seats in the family section and the bar.

Like others have said, the actions of a few have caused upheaval for the majority. "upheaval for the majority" really? The Main Stand tenants are only mildly affected and that's when exiting the ground, but remember for a large majority of the games across the five years, segregated or not, their only exit has been through the main gate anyway. There are a number of fans who remained in the Town End when the shiny alternative was opened, and don't change ends at halftime so no 'upheaval' for them, and the regulars on the River Side aren't affected either. Currently - with crowds around 2700 - it seems to me that most (if not all) Stones' fans who want to go in the new stand are accommodated for most games, so, again they're only affected when leaving. I'm not sure I want to give the 'idiots' the satisfaction of thinking their actions have adversely affected the majority when for most of us there will be little, if any, impact. Those that ruin the game should be dealt with at all levels

This decision diminishes my matchday experience
Still, it makes stewarding at lot easier (& cheaper?)
