I thought I'd be clever and look through Jay's twitter follows, since he still follows 90% of everyone who's played for him and he might have already followed the new signing. However the only defender that came up was Mitchell Dickenson, who has been released by Gillingham, but according to wikipedia signed for Hythe a few days ago, so I've got nothing

I'd have been surprised if Jay had given anything away in his tweets tbh .... I guess we'll just have to be patient ! I see Chris Arthur has been released by Crawley. Was a Woking player and they also got him back on loan from Crawley last season, but the Woking fans don't seem to rate him very highly. Not too sure who else might be readily available at this late stage

it will be very surprising and very disappointing if the new signing turns out to be Chris Arthur maybe a lack of tweets but the snippets that Jay has given away suggest that his sights are set higher !

Would be lovely to see former millwall captain Paul Robinson down the Gallagher

I reckon it could be a loan player from the palace under 23 squad.

I doubt whether the Stones management after match comments made too many friends and influence at the Palace When it comes to reckoning though, geography and travel is important I have a hunch that we are looking at a London based League club

I understand that plan B is to use an existing member of the club who already has the necessary experience.
Bill Williams started training earlier this week and they don't come any more experienced than Bill.

Interesting lack of plural. Car park loop differs yet again.

This is getting so hard to predict And is there meant to be one signing or two signings ? One club or two clubs ?

seems like a new centre back signing is 100% cert to be announced tomorrow Jay has been looking at quality players from higher leagues than the National but my money is still on Josh and Magnus pairing up together on Saturday I think Magnus is/has been injured so at best he might get a place on the bench.

In his post Southend interview Jay said Magnus was nearly there and stood a decent chance of making the start of the season. Obviously a bit lacking in match fitness but that may also be true of any new signing, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him start on Saturday.
