So you still think it's acceptable to let off smoke bombs and throw hats on the pitch? I must admit you create one hell of an atmosphere but things like this let you down. I think it's already been pointed out elsewhere that it wasn't youngsters who threw hats on to the pitch.

and keep away from the grown ups ..they're a bad influence Yes names and grown-ups to avoid. Tim - epicentre of trouble - has been known to smash advertising hoardings Trolley - Likes to chuck vitriol and abuse at his own players until he manages to get a similar response from the player. Ant - Starts up sweary songs about his fellow supporters StoneColdRuss - Causes singing disturbances in hostelries - although confines this to the west of the country Dave U - Likes to throw a bit of abuse the ref's way - mostly home games Islandstone - The clue is in the name Toonarmy - Northern Neanderthal - confines most poor behaviour for Essex Ob1 - Scarf waving menace who will have your eye out at 150 paces Frenchstone - Throws Fanta around on the terrace La femme de Vic Jobson - Vitriol and abuse to refs (on live broadcasts no less) Jimmy Reed - aka aggrostone - abuses goalkeepers Historystone - our London Bench breaking specialist I'm sure there's more but beware. It's a jungle in that Gallystad You forgot yourself, reasons, too numerous to list

Markf75 I would like to suggest that you personally read each post 2-3 times before you reply, as your clearly reading things that are not there. If the club had no younger fans at all they club would financially die through lack of income. These youngsters are a welcome and along the way to maturity old heads like the rest of us could always try guiding them in the right direction rather than condemning them on our keyboards.

Self-policing is the way to go. You know who you and your mates are. If someone is being an idiot, have a word yourself. If someone brings a smoke flare, get them to dump it before the ground. If someone is drunk, keep an eye out for their wellbeing. Honestly, some of us old farts have forgotten what it is to be young.

It appears that our self appointed policeman is no whiter than white and was seen and heard verbally abusing York supporters after the recent game. A good example to set I fear not. A case of pot, kettle, black.

Let he who has no sin cast the first smoke bomb. When I was 15 I was a complete tool. This chap sounds a lot more mature and self aware than I was.

I'm also one of the younger fans 14 I have a season ticket and go to most the away games. I have been reading these threads and the way some poeple on here just jump straight into the conclusion that it was us "young thugs" or "hooligans" that have been causing trouble. When we haven't such as hats getting thrown onto the pitch you instantly blame us. Thank you for all the people who stuck up for us and said we didn't. We don't go to the games to cause trouble we go to support are local team and enjoy ourselfs

Every young people should be encouraged to come to our games. I have been slaughtered for saying what I witness by young fans from another club , namely Dover fans that behaved inappropriately on the train that I was travelling in for the match against Chester !. Please accept my explanation of the events that I witnessed with my own eyes and ears . These youths ... not from Maidstone but from Dover sang defamatory songs about our club ... Maidstone United ... These same youths were most probably picked up on CCTV cameras in the town centre ... These youths then attended the game at the Gallagher Stadium and were spoken to by the Police at the ground and the senior stewards. Their behaviour there was very arrogant and not what this friendly family club should want coming to our ground. These youths are mentioned in the Dover forum in a link entitled " idiot young Dover fans" ... Their club doesn't shower them with pride , but instead wish that they weren't associated with them. Maidstone United young supporters are the future of our club , I totally and wholeheartedly support that notion ... Not young fans from another club who behave disrespectfully towards our club !... Is chanting :" I want to go home , Maidstone is a shit hole ! Or other insulting songs about our club what people find acceptable ! ... I doubt it . In all honesty I would rather stand amongst a thousand young Maidstone young supporters to sing and cheer our players all game long than stand next to some boring old fart that looks up his phone to see how a Premier league club is doing !. C'mon You Stones! ... C'mon Young supporters ! I love it when they sing and go wild when we score or win a game.

Great post to read through - good to see not everyone blaming the youngsters when the older ones can be just as bad, if not worse. I've seen regular fans in their 40's smoking in the stands / toilets, threatening players with violence (Chelmsford away last season anyone? Embarassing!), throwing beer into toilet cubicles when people are using them and being general bell ends. The kids are alright.

If singing "Going down ! Going down !" to a few supporters at York after the game ... In jest ... I will add ... Furthermore no one was offended ! ... Then I am the guilty one ! And it's " The kettle calling the pot black ! 😚😚😉

I've seen more youngsters at the away games than the smug 'holier than thou' that comment on the forum. Fair play to them they do a good job with the atmosphere.

I don't think we can be ageist about this.
To repeat myself from another thread, atmosphere yes, illegal behaviour, no
There was a remarkable amount of energy and noise coming from behind the goal at Braintree.
One or two people crossed the line, it took many more than that to do the good stuff
AND I make no comment on the age or noisiness (is a word!) of the miscreants, because I don't know.
All I do know is that misbehaviour and support are absolutely not the same, and illegality can only bring discredit upon the club.
How can those who bring discredit call themselves supporters?
