Don't think it's been mentioned, but everyone's favourite Ryman League cameo player - if only for THAT penalty incident - Luke Rooney has joined USL team Phoenix rising, who are soon to be joined by none other than new player / owner, Didier Drogba!

Was certainly mentioned when he joined them 13 months ago - before nearly rejoining us in the summer. Sadly the old thread was bizarrely deleted.

Had no idea there was a possibility of him rejoining - I always rated him very highly and his stints at league clubs speak for how he would have coped at NL level. Seems like he's enjoying himself stateside now.

Yeah he trained with us last summer but couldn't get a move thru because of paperwork/technicalities. You should've bought the last fanzine

Clearly not up to date on the latest tabloid gossip, eh? Any idea what the technicalities were? Surprised he was back in the UK looking at clubs - he seems to be doing well in America, but I can only assume the money isn't as good? The travel as well must be ridiculous!

He was over here during their close season and trained with us. Not sure the exact details but something to do with his registration over there and international clearance.
