Looking through footballwebpages latest news section it stands out just how many of our rivals are signing league players on perm or loan deaks, We really are not seemingly an attractive proposition. The clock ticks. It seems like a lot of people on here have forgotten how desperate we are to sign a good defender as well as few others, so far we have managed an 18 year old a striker on loan plus one other, there is something about the club thats making players stay away. Its well known we have one of the lowest budgets in the league We're part time which will put off a lot of league clubs loaning us players We have a 3G pitch that a lot of league clubs are against and players with injury problems are told to avoid playing on Also Jay said last week he was hoping to have a new signing in by Torquay, yet so far we heard no news or even rumours.....so maybe another deal has fallen through

We are not a great hiring proposition at the moment, but whilst it would be nice (have been nice?) to have got in some extra support at the back, our recent signings may well prove to be enough to bridge that narrow gap between being well in the game but losing and winning a few of the "even" games. It is what it is and I personally have faith that the club is doing everything it can, so I'm just going to enjoy the remaining games of the season. Whilst it would not be good for the nerves - a 93rd minute winner from Yemi against Tranmere that keeps us up would knock the Stonebridge Road experience into a cocked hat (whatever that actually means!)

Page 14 of fis thread reads like sensible realism what on earth has happened this week ... It's ridiculous that we haven't signed three or four players with league experience. We should be getting rid of Jay and going after a Championship level manager at least. Scrap building that silly new stand and sign more players please!

Wonder if there might be an announcement tonight? Does the car park have any gossip?

Our problem is in defence, not attack. We DO score goals, and we'd score a lot more if we weren't forever shipping goals.
Look at the table - only one side has conceded more goals, but 7 teams have scored the same or less - and 5 of those are above us (11th, 14th, 15th, 17th and 18th). Where we fail is with those two or three mistakes per game at the back - which at this level means two or three goals against.
We need someone at the back who can read the game and command the defence - lock the back door tight so the rest of the team can get on with playing the game and scoring goals.
I hope I am wrong and that a win this Saturday is a turning point in our season that sees us climb away to safety, but, as we seem to have failed to sign anyone at the back, I honestly can't see anything changing. We might score more goals, but we'll still let them in, and we'll still lose games we should have won.

have a look at nws's post again the language isn't so industrial as pmh but the message is the same (neither to be read literally)

did you really take pmh's more extreme posts literally ? like when he was on about the owners investing in the infrastructure for their own profits and funding personal Range Rovers etc it was all totally off the wall, knock about stuff and not particularly tasteful, but surely you didn't take it seriously ?
incidentally if you think that nws is just looking for a reaction, why do you so often fall for it ?
