I for one won't miss this one - awful pub. I once saw the landlady so pissed she fell off her bar stool. Locals with any sense drink in the workingmens club next door. Did you know that underneath the Bower Inn was a live music venue back in the 1960's😁

Seem to recall Maidstone Borough Council wouldn’t grant a drinks licence for the Bowerhouse? Because middle aged blokes listening to folk music are notoriously rowdy. Going there pre pandemic, I was offered ' beer from the wood ' at a very reasonable price, so they may have overcome this hurdle. Great venue, if you enjoy that type of thing ......

But it's ok for morris dancers to get tanked up and whack each other with sticks😁

Fascinating in these publess days - you could have a drink in the Bowerhouse, pop round the corner for another (quick) one in the Bower Inn, and then have a third in the workingman's club. A three 'pub' crawl in about 50 yards!
And if you fancied some fresh air and exercise after that, the First and Last is only 5 minutes away...

Captures it beautifully. Can't wait to drink a pint there again - must be close to 35 years since I was last in there. And, talking of the "owner's animal friends" - when I was there last, the landlord had the biggest dogs I've ever seen in a pub - you could easliy have fitted another four customers in without those dogs!
