Firstly I apologise because this is not a pub but the Old Boat floating Cafe is back in its rightful position in Maidstone. For Covid reasons it has been gone a long time but it does the finest food in Maidstone. The cheddar cheese and local apple with fig and Bishop finger ale chutney huffkin is bloody gorgeous. I recommend you all to have a visit. They do cooked breakfast ,jacket spuds fresh from the onboard stove and wonderful ploughmans dishes. Please support this wonderful old boat and the wonderful people that run it. Advertisement over😋

Not a pub, but the nightclub where a kid got killed outside has reinvented itself as Ballin. www.ballinmaidstone.com/£50 per person to play table tennis or pool while drinking beer. Not for the likes of me. Will be shut soon then🤬

In the old Pizza Express building. Noticed someone outside having just a beer, and it does claim to be a bar. Apparently has a record shop upstairs. thegreenroommaidstone.co.uk/I have never heard a beer claiming to be a bar but the re cord shop sounds interesting.

Popped to Maidstone today and had a couple in the Stag, it's not the greatest pub in town but the music played through the speakers is second to none. Moved on to the Druids, not a lover of the new decor but Carrie the landlady gave me the biggest hug. One of the new bar staff though is a bit of a wet fish, sorry,a massive wet fish, the weekend crowd will eat him alive.

Walked past the Pilot today - very sad sight.
I can't remember what the situation was, but it has the look of a pub that is never going to reopen.

New expanded bar in the Royal Star Arcade to replace 4 degrees. www.thecanopybar.co.uk/At around £5 a pint, wouldn’t go there too often. But good luck to them in these hard times. Previous owner/manager now has the RED BULL at Eccles.

Yeah. My wife follows the Facebook page. Gone all upmarket with the food. Not my thing, but he knows what he’s doing. Yeah still a good pub though, the good residents of Eccles will not allow him to get to posh ,trust me.😁

Shout out for The Rifle Volunteers. Popped in last Saturday for a lovely pint of Goachers sitting in the back garden.

Can't wait to bump my head on the upstairs beams in the Gem once again! Although with table booking in such a tiny pub, I can't see it being very soon. I suppose they can have a few tables out front, but if memory serves there is no beer garden.
Funny thing about the Rifle Volunteers - as I live in the middle of Holland Road, it's actually my nearest pub. But only as the proverbial crow flies! In reality it's a fair walk, and, whichever way I go, I actually pass other pubs on the way. Considering how few pubs there are left in town, that's quite a weird situation.

I was in the Druids last Saturday and they had 4 bar staff on continually patrolling the pub and one assistant manager getting in the way and f**king everything up. Dont you just love managers?

No beer garden at Little Gem and I have also heard that the new licence is significantly more restrictive than what they had before for drinking out the front

I for one won't miss this one - awful pub. I once saw the landlady so pissed she fell off her bar stool. Locals with any sense drink in the workingmens club next door.
