Gillingham Vs Dagenham in the FA Cup live on BBC3. The attendance looks like very low 100s and would have been even lower if not for a decent away following. Click photo to enlarge. View AttachmentNot the weather to be in an empty stand!

Well, say what you like, but that was a fantastic winning goal.

On a Tuesdsy night maybe but cannot show live games on Saturday at 3pm. I cab see clubs like Wrexham and Notts Co shifting kick off times to 12.30 or Friday nights and the keague need to be strong and say no. Every game this weekend is being streamed live www.nationalleaguetv.com/packagesCan you only view via a laptop/pc?

Can you only view via a laptop/pc? You can also use a phone or tablet. When we were streaming games in covid times I just connected my PC to the TV and watched the games that way.

Gillingham attendance 1533 (287). I’d like to know where they were hiding them all.

Presumably on the same side where the low level camera was? Certainly not many folks anywhere else. Looks quite a nice stadium, especially for NL next season!

All built on the cheap, nothing matches, away end open. Having been there, it looks better than it is. The away end is built of scaffolding, a temporary stand that's been in place for around 30 years. The main stand is the only decent part of the ground. The Gordon Road stand is ok but badly in need of renovation. Never been in the Rainham end so can't really judge but would take the Genco over it any day. As I understand (my father in law is a season ticket holder) after a dispute with Scally there are no catering outlets around the ground so really not a great experience for home or away fans.

Remember walking past the ground when the Gordon Road Stand was being built and seeing thick metal girders and thinking, that’s a shame. For a relatively small modern stand, it wouldn’t have added much to the cost to have an unobstructed view. Friends who use the Rainham End report regular trouble and disagreement between different factions. Main Stand looks pretty good. The away end is a rotting edifice that’s being repaired just for us if we end up in the same league next season. Anyway, we should make them welcome by putting all future Gillingham posts in this National League thread.

Unfortunately, it was made of highly combustible wood... The 'modern' ground is a hastily thrown together on the cheap mess. I'd rather go down to JWW any day. And I still say that, even after today's 94 minutes of utter shite in the freezing bloody cold.

Temporary stands, toilets closed due to slippy floors when cold, a control box that’s literally collapsing, buildings preventing future expansion, Genco to be finished and fitted out in the future, stands not built to touch lines so ends left open to the elements, lack of planning for segregation. Don’t get me wrong, I love it and it’s better than 90% of grounds we encountered along the way, but being in the National League has very much shown our infrastructure is nowhere near the next level. There is very little high quality football architecture in Kent. Even Ebbsfleet who had £15 million to spend, built a very disappointing bus shelter.

There is very little high quality football architecture in Kent. Even Ebbsfleet who had £15 million to spend, built a very disappointing bus shelter. I wouldn't say it was done on the cheap, just that the money was very carefully spent - and we got pretty much the best ground you could expect for IS/IP. And I think the extra investment for the move up to NS/NL was also very well spent - the Genco must be the envy of many clubs. Bearing in mind the overriding need to keep expenditure below income, we have pretty severe limits on what we can do in the way of infrastructure improvements, but, given that restraint, I think the club has done pretty well. That's not to say I would do everything the same if we were starting from scratch though! We have inadvertently given ourselves some serious long-term problems because of the original design of the stadium. For instance, the sighting of the offices, etc - these limit the expansion of the main stand, and would have been better located behind the TE, so that a future Genco-type stand could be built in front/over them. Then there's the mess we've got ourselves into with the location of away fans... But that's with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight - you can't really blame Terry and Oliver for not building in easy growth to an EFL stadium, when they took over a club that got 300 fans on a good day, was struggling to stay in the IP, and was about to go bust. Just getting gates of over 1,000 would have seemed unlikely in those days.

Oldham are now only a point behind us with 2 games in hand.
