Judging by the picture on the link they appear to have Nosferatu as first team coach

Gandermonium's view on the Tim Flowers appointment:
' Gandermonium @gandermonium · 6m We can't tell you how delighted we are that we'll be getting to see Tim's delightful brand of football again this season. His Solihull side was about as entertaining as a Covid ward. '

OK, this is where I go on about attendances and how the hell some clubs can afford to spend what they do...
I know L2 clubs get some TV money, but it isn't much, and presumably there isn't much of a parachute payment (if any?) for clubs relegated to the NL. So, Macc will still be pretty reliant on gate money.
Well, their attendance last season was just under 2,000 - the lowest in the EFL, and when they were last in the NL, it was an average of just 1,544 (quite a bit lower than our NS average). Even in their promotion season, they only managed an average of 1,838 (we got 2,412 the same season). So, less income than we have - and, with the Covid restrictions, probably even lower (even if they are allowed (and can get) 2,000, the extra income from food, drink, etc will probably be down).
And this is a club that has struggled with its finances, for at least the last two years - late payment of players, points deductions (and relegation) for financial irregularities...
What can possibly go wrong?

I think the parachute payment is £750,000 for the 1st year and £375,000 for the second which is better than a kick in the gonads

I think the parachute payment is £750,000 for the 1st year and £375,000 for the second which is better than a kick in the gonads Peanuts compared to what they get further up the pyramid, but not to be sneezed at. I'd guess that £750k is roughly what a club of our size (or Macc's) would expect in turnstile/ST income over a season. So that means that a decent chunk of their first season's income is covered without them having to kick a ball or let a fan in. Still can't see it ending well, though. I suspect they'll bust a gut trying to get straight back up, and probably miss. So, their second season in the NL should be interesting - even with 375 grand up front.

Most clubs who fall out of the EFL have serious financial problems, so don’t get to buy an advantage in the NL with their windfall payment.

And of course every time the go up and then come straight back down it gets renewed. That, Sir, is what I call a proper business plan!

Can't Pay We'll Take It Away... businesses that don't pay their debts do not deserve to survive. I see the winding up petition had been adjourned 12 times!

This is only the third thread this is on!! Can we consolidate on just the one thread? This one would seem to be the obvious one...
