They'll pay the price. Just like Chesterfield's - their huge debt is working wonders for them... You can either play your way to success or pay your way. The latter works fine, but, as so many have discovered the hard way, it only works until the money runs out. Does Chesterfields debt include their huge parachute payment from the EFL?

They got a huge parachute payment? That's it then, we must go hell for leather for promotion next season, dig up the 3G pitch in order to go up, get relegated first time round from the EFL, and use our parachute payment to pay for a new 3G pitch to last the next several years and restore the business plan. Pure Keynesian economics!

"Huge" is a relative term. We had quite a discussion on here a few years ago about parachute payments and I think the concensus was that the L2-NL one was peanuts by EFL standards - a couple of milion, if memory serves? Whilst, that sort of money might look huge to us, for an ex-EFL club with multi-million debts, it's barely going to scratch the surface.

Parachute payments at whatever level and for however much are bloody ridiculous. Teams that get relegated should suffer the consequences, not be given an unfair financial advantage so they can hang on to all their best players in an effort to get straight back up again.

Indeed. Interesting that it happens in the FL, right down to the NLP, yet the clubs with arguably the biggest hurdles to overcome - full time/part time, plus stadium improvements - and proportionally the most to lose get sweet FA.

Parachute payments are just an attempted means to maintain an elite clique and try to keep those pesky newbies out of the trough.

If that's correct, regardless of their rights or wrongs, they're not very effective.

Why ?
He would lose a post. ( Considering you keep a score of those things)

Scott Quigley, remember him, scores for Barrow. They are top of the NPL of course, so we can only wonder what they are doing with him that was different to his time with us? Scott's the good one been at barrow since early part of the seasons, scored a few goals. Joe's the one we had and he's bounced around a few teams since leaving us.

Fleet go down to Royston in the FAT. Excellent, nothing like Fleet getting beaten in extra time! They can concentrate fully on getting relegated now. But stupid bloody Football Waste of time Pages, has that game as 0-0!! They've also got the Concord result as 1-1...

You had to be there to see just how bad it was. The bench had 3 midfielders, 2 defenders and 2 keepers. Not a forward . And we were as shockingly bad as the referee.
