Ans 1, there's more chance than if you don't! Ans 2, would that have been a supporters club run by supporters? Aren't they all run by supporters? I suspect that one was run by some of the supporters still running the 'new' one - I definitely recognise a few faces from the old White Horse days. Not the one you're in

Not the one you're in The people who run the club aren't supporters? You mean they're doing all this just to make money?!

Look jdl, its all about the money. There's an illegal custard cream making factory under the pitch. Pbb wanted it to be bourbons, oliver ash wanted custard creams and that was the big fall out.
Don't tell anyone, ok.

I hope you do not mind if I reply on this forum but as many of the supporters that know me I still follow my beloved Stones through the media and conversation even though I cannot watch them in person, and I support the basis of why I am banned from the ground although I think it a little bit excessive but I respect the decision. I am in admiration about what Oliver and Terry have achieved on and off the field since 2010. When I purchased the Club from Jim Thompson in 1992 he advised me that MUFC would only survive if it played in the County Town, so that is why I negotiated purchase and gained outlined planning permission for the ground where the Stadium is built now in the center of the Town even though I could not build the Stadium and this with other reasons dictated I had to go in 2010, and hand over the reigns to Oliver with confidence he would ensure that the Club once again would play in the County Town and allow those many Supporters that were not able to join the hard core of loyal Supporters that were able to join me on the turbulent journey with its highs and lows from 1992-2010.
But now the New Stadium allows all the Supporters new and old to support their football team at their own home after years of being nomadic, and I hope that at the end of this season I read that the Stones have won promotion and will be able to continue the journey up the pyramid that Jim Thompson and I so dearly wanted and worked hard for achieve through the history of this fine Club.
May I wish all the Supporters of Maidstone United FC very personal merry Christmas and a Happy and enjoyable New Year on and of the Field.

A happy Christmas to you too Paul - a good win for your team this week, I noticed!
I don't think anyone has forgotten who secured the land for the stadium in the first place - whatever else may have happened, nobody can take that away from you.
All the best
P.S. Notice that Paul confirmed he bought the club from Jim Thompson, not David Folb. It was always my understanding that was the case.

My leg never recovered Admittedly going for a ride that long so soon after taking a chunk out of it go-karting was never the greatest of ideas. Still Henley. What a town!

Only one of us saw the first half against Hendon... I'm with Huw. I have never touched a cycle since. I look back on the PBB years as a great journey that never quite got finished. Still it was enjoyable in most parts and has some great memories (good and bad). Happy Xmas to PBB as well

I'm sure the majority of MUFC fans supported and understood your aims, and we all thank you for your past participation in the club. As others have said it is only due to your impetus that the club is where it is today and not consigned to the waste-bin of history. You seem also to have worked wonders with the set-up you have at Thamesmead apart from, maybe, needing 3G for your main pitch. We also remember the small matter of our meeting last season at your place - total travesty, lol. Merry Christmas

PBB highlights a very important point - the fact that the new ground is so close to the town centre (we must be unique in that, with the trend being to move clubs out of town to green-field sites - how many new stadia have been built CLOSER to their towns?!).
Even at London Road, it felt away from the town. And if you walked into town afterwards, it was rare to see another MUFC scarf or hat. But now, on my way through the town to the ground, and coming back afterwards, there are supporters everywhere - it feels like a 'proper' local football club.
And I wonder if we would have got the crowds we do now at Hollingbourne or Barming?
So, to PBB, thanks for all you did for the club, but especially thanks for having the foresight to really bring the Stones home.

Heh, heh..indeed. I was even thinking Kingstonian as I typed Hendon. As my birthday approaches it seems my brain approaches old age ever faster, Huw
