Perhaps pmh could point out which parts of the article make light of racism. If it's in there I missed it. As far as I can see it's condemnation of racism is unequivacable You don't think pmh had their photo taken at the dulwich game do you? ;-)

An English man, Irish man and Scots man walk into a bar. Where is the Welsh man? It's a Sunday. In Wrexham.

Red tarmac and black tarmac are drinking in a pub, when green tarmac walks in.
"On no", says black tarmac, "not him - ignore him, perhaps he'll go away"
"Why?", asks red tarmac, "what's wrong with him?"
"Him?", replies black tarmac, "he's a cycle path!"

PMH, let's get to the bottom line, are you telling me that you haven't told an irish joke or some other race related joke or comment in the last year? If you didn't, I find this very hard to believe!! There is no place for jim Davidson es que crap anymore, very true. But come on man, light hearted banter is one thing. But monkey chants? You can't seriously draw comparisons. There is no place for that shite.. ANYWHERE.. PERIOD. You missed my point entirely. I can honestly say i haven't. Not missed your point, your point was a little light racism is ok. Please stay in Spain,do not contaminate the same air as me. As you used the word Bollocks in your first post to me ,if you have any please ask the club to chat to alex ,and say a little racism is ok,if you have a bigger pair visit Champion Hill and announce in the bar ,a little racism is ok ,its a British way. Are you, perchance, related to nws or FrenchStone?

Here is a ' Foreign' import perspective for you . Clyde Best came out of Bermuda over 30 years ago and played for West Ham with Bobby Moore, Martin Peters etc. One of the 1st black players to play in the ist div. Monkey chants, bananas and all and became one of the most respected footballers for it of all time. If, after 2 years back home MUFC allow people like these - who have hopefully been identified , who for any racist/ sexist or any other chant should be shown the door and totally banned from any Stones game home or away. As for Plastic Passion - probably the best thoughts on the Stones games and the club, although I agree there are a lot of adjectives that could be used in description rather than the ones used. But you are warned before you take your choice and read the articles !!! Amazing to see the stand at Stevenage on TV - David Sadler use to play in front of at least 50 down at London Rd. until he made it. Looking forward to the game tomorrow but can't help feeling that although all the money from cup games can only help the club promotion in the leagues is the priority even if it is bit by bit ! COYS

Sorry PMH but you are alone in this one, I hate racists, even told a guy at a friends party where to get off recently, I have no time for racists in any form! I've worked in the construction industry in London most of my working life and have dealt with people of all colour race and religion. There have been some black people that I cant stand, there have been white people I cant stand, and nothing to do with colour! I know both the reporters on PP and they aint no racists!

I remember confronting a horrible man with two small kids at a first div game years ago when he was having a go at Sol Campbell. Using all the worst racist words in a stream of anger. Right in front ofhis kids. I was quite scared but he shut up after that. No excuse for any such language and we should report it to stewards or to the club staff, photos, anything. They should ban anybody caught, for at least a season, show example. We are a big family club. We should welcome everybody regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation etc. It's what should make us even more special as a group of supporters, as a club.

Love the plastic passion articles as they take a light hearted view that appeals to my humour. As for racist comments, not seen any on here connected to MUFC, heard the odd phrase at that ground that could be seen as near the mark but nothing overtly racist. I personally dislike a lot of the -isms whether sexism , racism and homophobia but I worked in the NHS so you learn colour, creed, gender etc means sod all when your backs against the wall.
As for political correctness I always remember calling my friend , coloured ( his parents were from the West Indies) his reply was " what am I a Fxxking rainbow" I gave up after that.

No one has said the bloggers are Racist ,i haven't.
I said the update,to the initial blog contained a jokey style ,and seemed to make light of the previous nights allegations. What was the point of the update anyway. The only point i can see is that the blogger is trying to be funny.
The blog regularly contains reference to unfunny incidents at games and comments made on the forum ,and by other people in local football, from months back that are continuous, and bought up so often ,regurgitated if you like.
The alleged comments in the ground are not a laughing matter,so why does the blog update contain attempts at humor?.

You still haven't said which particular bit makes light of the racism at the game. For the life of me I can't find anything. Both the article and the update are, to me, very clear on the seriousness and importance of the issue.

Of course it's a laughing matter, because racism is ridiculous. Comedy has always been a weapon with which to uncover and shame ugliness. It's a matter of lifting up a stone and pointing and laughing at what lies beneath. If you let it fester it grows and spreads unchecked. Sitting on a massive high horse and being sanctimonious never solves a damn thing. Yes it's nasty but to a large extent it's been kicked out of the game. You cannot instruct people not to make fun of it because that makes it a taboo - and there's nothing as funny as breaking a taboo. Saying you can't make fun of it makes it funnier. Some of my best friends are homosexuals.

It's ridiculing racism, not making light of it, an English (or British) tradition that goes back to people laughing at Mosley's black shirts. If the attempted humour isn't to your taste well that's too bad but it's a non-fascist country so no one will force you to read the site. From the vault, here is the Plastic Passion article on homophobia, though to warn everyone, it does contain attempts at humour. www.themaidstone.co.uk/homophobia.html
