Here's all of the ball numbers, with my interpretation (YMMV) of each teams current ranking in the pyramid!
1 Mansfield Town (86) or Concord Rangers (142) 2 Colchester (62) 3 Yeovil (67) 4 York (88) or AFC Wimbledon (85) 5 Walsall (60) or Shrewsbury (71) 6 Notts County (50) or Accrington Stanley (80) 7 Bradford City (58) 8 Warrington Town (345) 9 Eastleigh (100) 10 Basingstoke (120) or AFC Telford (116) 11 Dagenham & Redbridge (89) or Southport (110) 12 Weston-super-Mare (156) or Doncaster(61) 13 Peterborough (51) 14 Cheltenham (81) 15 Dartford (113) 16 Chesterfield (55) 17 Wycombe (69) 18 Bristol City (45) 19 Portsmouth (77) or Aldershot Town (108) 20 Gateshead (95) 21 Crewe (68) or Sheffield United (52) 22 Oxford United (87) 23 Tranmere Rovers (91) 24 Chester (106) 25 Luton Town (70) 26 Stevenage (84) or Maidstone Utd (165) 27 Bury (72) 28 Cambridge Utd (82) 29 Northampton (83) or Rochdale (49) 30 Dover Athletic (112) 31 MK Dons (48) 32 Wrexham (103) 33 Plymouth (74) 34 Barnsley (56) 35 Hartlepool (92) 36 Worcester City (140) 37 Oldham (53) 38 Havant & Waterlooville (126) or Preston (46) 39 Blyth Spartans (222) 40 Scunthorpe (65)
Respect Tooloow, but what does YMMV mean? Just trying to get my head around the pyramid placings. If were step 3 and at position 165, Blythe Spartans are also step 3, albeit Northern Prem, and about 17 places below us, so wouldn't that make them about 182? Likewise Warrington, they're bottom half of step 4, so maybe 40 places below us, eg ranked about 205?

With all due respect aristotle, I can't see maidstone hitting League 2 for the next few decades. The conference and conference north/south are so full of ex league teams and quality non league outfits that could blow away most of League 2 that unless you guys get a serious influx of cash and do a fleetwood I predict Worcester would definitely make it up first. Also please consider this, Coventry played better than us (Stevenage) yesterday however Worcester got two past them where as your team only had a few moments of real goal threats going forward. I'm not trying to take a dig but I'm just being realistic. Still I can see you all making the conference south in the next few years Forgive me, I wasn't suggesting that we would be in the League anytime soon! Just that neither probably would Worcester....you're right, there are probably a glut of other teams in far better shape.

YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary (i.e. its just my opinion, and you could easily look at it from a different perspective)
The way I looked at it was that there are 3 leagues in step 3, so a team in 21st (Blyth Spartans) has 60 teams in the same tier above them (i.e. 20 teams in each of the 3 divisions of equal standing). So the difference between Maidstone (2nd) and Blyth Spartans (21st) is 19 places in 3 leagues - 57 places...
Similar logic for Warrington, but their league position is multiplied by the 6 divisions of equal standing.
If I'd wanted to be more accurate, I'd have taken account of the difference in number of teams in each division at the same level, but I really couldn't be @rsed!

Okay fair enough there and if Worcester's run goes much further I can see alot of their better players being poached.
And in reply to an early comment about whether Stevenage fans miss the non league days..... for me at least its a resounding yes although weirdly most of the teams in the conference are now completely different.
Teams I most enjoyed visiting in the conference days were: York, Burton, St Albans, Grays (rather weirdly), Rushden and Diamonds, Ebbsfleet, Crawley, Cambridge United, Oxford United and Exeter.
How times have changed

How times have changed Whats all the hype about Worcester ,they are mid table CN ,have no ground ,the money from there ground is being spent on players. Recipe for disaster they really are going no where ,apart from this cup run, agree it was a great result though. i can read a spread sheet and see the income of most league 2 and conference teams,we have a much better income and bigger profits than most,we have no sugar daddy ,we have Mr 3G---avich, who sweetly brings in thousands in profit, our pitch and bars make us money all the time so when Sugar dad gets bored at this level the team dives,in 5 years i reckon yourself ,Crawley Fleetwood ,DandR will all be back in non league or just surviving relegation battles annually ,A club like yours is so desperate for the big Premiership boys in the 3rd or 4th round to survive. You also need to remember were the 11 best supported non-league club. We too have London and its 12 clubs nearby as well as the third world hovel of Gillingham,we still pull gates of just under 2.000 ,WITH no away fans most of them we have seen is about 70 from Kingstonian remember them!

Times do indeed change - I've just been reading up on the chequered history of the various teams called Stevenage over the last 120 years. www.fchd.info/STEVENAT.HTM Likewise us - I sense a lot of older fans' favourite years were in the APL (79-89). When I first started watching we were in the Southern League but were quite newly transferred from the Isthmian; obviously since then, Div 4 for 3 years, County League for too many years, 5 years KL, and this is our 9th year back in the Isthmian. Still, more interesting than supporting someone like Harrow who've been Isthmian Premier since 1980!

In fairness pmh you don't have Tottenham, Arsenal, Watford and Luton inside 15 miles.
As for Worcester, momentum can take you a long way. Our march through the non-leagues and then many years later doing a back to back promotion the same as the likes of Exeter, Carlisle, Crawley etc Fleetwood, Newport and Luton are the examples of this year for me.

The majority say a home draw preferably, however I enjoy going to other grounds, The Lamex was great, the grass was great. And the atmosphere is a different class away, home matches people seem to let apathy take over.

I enjoyed the Lame-o but was a bit disconcerted that I could not buy a mood-altering drink. It would have been nice to have been told about the lack of grown up facilities before I went in. My liver thanks you - my Hell-raising persona does not. It'll not do me any harm ... I guess.

In fairness Fortresslamex we to have big clubs near by being on the other end off London. Charlton, Fulham, palace, Chelsea. Need I go on or do you get the picture. I think the point being made is that when you look at our histories we are not to dissimilar at all.

Ok I won't split hairs. To be honest I have a world of respect for Maidstone who remind me of us 10-15 years ago. Small, siege mentality, great support and a world of potential. If you do beat us next week I'm putting money on you reaching the 3rd round

Wrexham's a tough one whichever of us go through, but we've beaten Welling and dug in deep to hold you at your place (whatever anyone says about how you played, your superior fitness showed in the last 10 minutes and we were hanging on) so I don't see any reason why we shouldn't do the same at The Racecourse, if we get past you a week Thursday.

I'm curious - what were your attendances like when you were in the Isthmian? For example in 93/94 when you won it? I really cannot find details online anywhere (I thought Google knew EVERYTHING!!!)
No disrespect intended, but if we got into the FL and our crowds weren't an order of magnitude higher than yours (assuming we have a stadium that can accommodate them!) then I'd be surprised and disappointed! So I'm hoping that your attendances when you were at our level were quite a bit lower than ours are.....
