I'm not being optimistic (40+ years of football has long since knocked that out of me!), I just think that the Conference will look silly if they back down now. Especially as it's almost certain that the FL will approve 3G in a year's time, and the Conf will then have to switch their decision back again.
On a practical level, how many Conf clubs have 3G pitches, or are likely to get them in the next couple of years? And even if we get promoted three seasons running, they still won't have to worry about whether or not the FL will accept promoted clubs with 3G pitches for three years!

This thread has become very depressing. ! to be fair it was depressing to start with. Every contibution by Calais is depressing. He's a miserable, pointless naysaying, t**t who needs to bore off and haunt some other poor misbegotten club's forum instead of ours

Calais sees it how he thinks or knows and that's his opinion. He's done a lot to seek clarification on our behalf at no gain for himself. He and "on the up" both have pushed the flanks of this 3g battle and debate. People will believe what they want to believe, not always what is the possible out come.

Hello Russc - I shall be more than happy not to have put in the time and effort required to establish fact, in support of the Club and the advancement of ATP's.Obviously, you subscribe to the view that we should only hear what suits us - Maidstone are always right, everyone else is always wrong, and if they don't see that then they're stupid, as well.Everything should always work out just to suit us, and if it doesn't we'll just carry on, and pretend that it it did, really - everyone else is just too stupid to see it.No problems, everything's wonderful, happy-happy-happy.....Don't think about anything, nothing is ever open to question, close your mind, blend-in....
Personally, I would prefer an environment where we can have a full and thoughtful analysis and debate, but hey-ho...... Hello Calais. At the end of the day, your interpretation is no more evidence based than mine. The previous conference statement made no mention of another vote, or of any dependence on the football league's decision. That is purely speculation on your part.

Personally, I would prefer an environment where we can have a full and thoughtful analysis and debate, but hey-ho...... How has your continued negativity on here advanced the cause of ATP? If anything you help to rehearse arguments against it of present loopholes. I am a long way from some amber tinted optimist, indeed the use of the word optimism in relation to me will have a few people on here raising a wry smile if not actually laughing out loud. I'm also not the forum police, I don't dictate what people should or should not post, but I find the glee with which you appear to greet negative news on 3G to not be to my taste. As Islandstone pointed out, I was overly harsh, and I will apologise for that and go back to my default position of not reading your posts, then everyone will be OK, if not happy
