Marbella may be referring to the post beforehand about the 'Saurus (hopefully?)

I never knew his ashes were under the stand - very nice gesture by the club.
I remember him as a fixture in the London Road/Dartford days. But I never knew his real name (he was known as Elvis because that was written on the back of his jacket). In all the years of 'knowing' him, I never spoke to him, or even heard him speak - all those scarves, etc where a bit intimidating!

Marbella may be referring to the post beforehand about the 'Saurus (hopefully?) The Saurus IS quite funny. And quite educational! I never realised that quite so many Medwayites came over the hill at weekends. In all my years of living in Maidstone and working in Chatham, I always got the distinct impressions that neither town had much to do with the other, and that few people willingly went over the hill, either way. (My old next-door neighbour had spent he entire 50-odd years in Maidstone, and had travelled widely in Britain and abroad, but had never been to Chatham!). So the bit about 01634 was intriguing. But the other day we got in a taxi and my youngest started reading out loud a note on the window about an £80 charge for "animal or human mess" in the cab. The driver explained why it was there and I made a casual remark about the sort of people he probably had to pick up Fridays and Saturdays. But he said, no, Fridays were OK, because it was usually local people, but on Saturdays a lot of people came over from Medway and they were the ones he always had trouble with!

I believe he's got a plot in the conservation area behind it. When the ground first opened they left a gap in the fence to the right of the stand so people could go through and pay their respects.

Absolutely correct Dave, it's the area that used to the the smoking area that end I was at his funeral and later when his ashes were buried at the Springfield end He was indeed a character and most loyal fan I can still hear 'get it out' when we are under pressure at a match

He seemed to be the same age every season!

There must have been quite a few fans from the old days who never saw the club come home.
I was in my 20s and 30s then, but if it was now (in my 60s) when the club was in trouble and about to go bust, I would be horrified to think I might not live long enough to see the club back home again.
