Fifa secretary-general Jerome Valcke: "It could well be that sooner rather than later the men's World Cup will also be played on artificial pitches." I suspect that's as much about heading off a law suit from women footballers. They are suing FIFA over sexual discrimination as they say they are being made to play on artificial pitches in the next World Cup where men are not. |

Surely the Ladies' National Associations had a vote to decide on Canada and knew about the artificial playing surfaces.
