Seems a pretty sensible question to ask - the view from that side of the ground unless you have a spot along the fence is terrible - so a solution should be found of one sort or another ... However quite why the need for the aggressive response to the question from one member of this forum I've no idea Because the beer tosser wasn't able to read the small print elsewhere on the forum.

However quite why the need for the aggressive response to the question from one member of this forum I've no idea Exactly how was I being aggressive. Just pointing out that compared to what we had four years ago we're in a very good position. The question about the river side has been answered over and over again but people still keep going on about it. Maybe they could also come up with a plan for funding it instead of constantly criticizing the club about it. Daveu - These beer tossers chose not to hear that there is a giant water main on the medway side of the ground. Maybe the club should do a demonstration to show these ****** that this is a problem.

The club have had professional building consultants involved with the development of the stadium since well before it was built and they continue to be employed. However, it's clear that we should not expect people to know anything about how to develop a ground merely because it's a subject they have dedicated all their careers to and what they do for a living. It's obvious to me now that much smarter minds are available to the club if only they would read the forum. The airborne water main alone is pure genius!

Well why not, it seems to me you can do anything with a 3D printer these days!

Whilst they are looking at the water main problem could the experts also come up with a feasibility study on moving the River Medway a few feet to the west to create the much needed space? Alternatively, could the engineers not come up with a plan to build a cantilevered stand which extends partly over the river?

As I've said before - why not just a couple of steps along that side? Dirt cheap to put in and it solves the problem of people not being able to see when we get a big crowd. BECAUSE THERE'S A f**king GREAT WATER MAIN (UNDERGROUND) ON THAT SIDESo what is it that your trying to say ?

There was mention last night that the council may be prepared to sell the land between the fence and the river path. This could mean that at least some terracing might be built effectively behind the water main, avoiding the need to move it. We need to complete the other stand expansions first though before the council will consider this

Is that the metal pipework (about a foot in diameter) that briefly emerges on the footpath towards the Malta Inn? I happen to have an old hose pipe if the club wants to bypass that pipe free of charge of coarse.

It's not exactly a major stand, or even serious terracing - just enough to let people see over the person in front. Doesn't even have to be concrete, there are plenty of 'cinder' and wood 'terraces' around in other football grounds. Perhaps you should read posts before reaching for the 'silly' button?

And maybe you should realise that the club have looked into this and it just isn't feasible. I'm just wondering how many times this question has to be answered before people accept the fact that it isn't going to happen in the short term.

Ok, here goes.
This issue has been raised since we moved back into the new ground. The reason nothing was ever done down there is due to a water main that runs underground. Of anything were to happen to said main and emergency access or indeed any kind of access was needed the water company would quite happily tear up anything that was there.
If it was a burst pipe they wouldn't politely wait until we said, "let's just move those steps and or stand be it temporary or otherwise". They would go in even if it was all locked up and carry out the work.
I believe that there may have been an option to have it moved on building the ground but the logistics and cost would have been monumental.
As I said at the top this has been raised in here so many times that it gets a little tiresome when the same idiots keeps raising it and then get annoyed when someone like me comes along and says something along the lines of
"IT'S BECAUSE THERE IS A f**king GREAT WATER MAIN (UNDERGROUND) ALONG THAT SIDE OF THE GROUND"
