Visiting Bromley on Tuesday I was struck just how similar their ground layout is to ours. Considering theirs holds 6000, I think we have plenty of scope to approach that. What I liked was the huge terrace opposite their main stand which was stepped and the full length of the pitch. Obviously their end stands were a little bigger but it was this long stand (the river side for us) which if we had something similar could raise the capacity quite easily. Here is the only pic I could find but you get the general idea. Other pics of the stands nicked off the interweb.

Perhaps all the people who keep saying we should develop the riverside can come up with a way to pay for moving the water main.

I still say have terrace sections down that side of similar style to end terraces at G'S . In the unlikely event of needing access to the water main in that section surely they can be moved with relative ease? Or am I missing something obvious? Fans could fund raise to buy these too

What I never really understood was is it about access to the pipe in which case moverable units could be looked at ? Or is it about a risk of damaging the pipe in which case try to reinforce it for very small units how hard can this be? Where it might be the most problematic is if both the above are needed because reinforcing the area could restrict access.

Ok I think someone may need to shout it as people appear to be eejits.
THERE IS A f**king GREAT WATER MAIN ALONG THAT SIDE OF THE GROUND.
IT HAS BEEN SAID ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THAT THAT SIDE WILL BE THE LAST TO EVER BE DEVELOPED.
IF THE OWNERS THOUGHT THAT TEMPORARY STRUCTERS WOULD WORM THEY WOULD HAVE DONE IT.

Ask the question tonight, but I'm sure Bill told me that even temporary movable stands down that side are a no go, as the water board will come in and rip them up if there is a problem and dump them on our pitch!

Thinks its something to do with as soon as you put a few bolts in place to secure it, ie to comply with health and safety it then becomes permanent so then not allowed. As usual all tied up in red tape.

Difficult to build over the main but not impossible provided 24/7 access maintained to repair and renew. In housing development we did this by forming storey height arch over the main for vehicles. So with a clever design it might be possible to form a propped cantilever stand along East side with unimpeded access under for repair but would depend on the head height they need I guess and might result in a cracking stand with great views, albeit expensive!!!

Three years ago we didn't have a ground and a support base of around 300. Now all of a sudden people seem to want Wembley !!!

No, they want a ground where they can actually see the pitch.

No, they want a ground where they can actually see the pitch. Well obviously I was exaggerating for effect, but considering where we were before, you'd think people would be a bit more patient. There are some on here who seem to want the club to spend money it hasn't got, and we all know where that leads.
