I don't care who we get. Although a small team at home would be nice - that way we'd actually get a home game. I have watched the Stones at Carlisle - I wonder how many fans can say that? For a while I was actually the only away fan - there was a minibus full of fans on its way, but they were delayed. As the game kicked off, the population of the away end consisted of a copper, the tea lady - and me! Why didn't you go up on the coach?

Yeovil away and I'm there. We had an away there once (must have been a cup, as I don't think they were in the Conf in those days). The pitch in their old place used to have a really obvious slope side-to-side. We were at the bottom of the slope, so looking up all the time - a very strange feeling. Oddly, though, it didn't seem to affect the game. I can't remember the result, but it seemed like a perfectly normal game - I was expecting it all to take place on our side, at the bottom of the slope!

I think they were the only team of that era to go up the league's and stay the test of time.

I don't remember them being in the Conference, but they were actually founder members of the Alliance, so we were in the same league for six years! But I'm not completely wrong, as they were demoted to the IPL in 85 and only got back into the Conf the year we got promoted - so during our really good years, they were in the IPL. Which is obviously what I'm remembering. But this old brain of mine has been running for over 61 years, so I guess loosing a few years here and there is only to be expected...

But that would make you 610, JDL?

But that would make you 610, JDL? In the year we won the Conference we beat them 5-0 at Watling Street and some of their fans were giving Mark Beeney dog's abuse behind the goal. He soaked it all up, waited to the final whistle, held up five fingers to them, smiled and walked off.
