I don't understand the argument that the pitch gives us an advantage. Ok we have won every game played at the GS this season but we have also won all but two away from home and by some peoples reckoning the home team playing on grass should have an advantage over us. We train exclusively on 3G so we are not used to a mix of mud, sand, water and err....Grass. The injury argument is just as ridiculous and I'm getting rather tired of it our team has played on it all season and touch wood we have avoiding any real injuries. Why can't Jamie Day just acknowledge that his team were well and truly beaten by the Better team. End of the day Jamie I think the golf between our two sides is not as big as the leagues suggest. Well done to the stones! Let's keep this run going and make the GS a faultress.

If you look at the early posts on their forum once they knew they had drawn us, there were a few which specifically said that they wouldn't be able to complain about the pitch and that it would be a good fair surface.
Sour grapes now, no question.....

To be fair to him, he also said we were better on the day and Welling weren't good enough, and it was the interviewer who brought up the subject of 3G. I think most managers offered an excuse on a plate like that would take it

But every home ground gives the home team an advantage, that's why games are played at home and away through the season. That's what a home ground does. look at Sittingbourne, when we were there we could almost judge the Bourne Bobble, so of course being at home would give us an advantage as we know how perfect the ball bounces and if it runs quick or slow. so unfortunately Mr Day try finding another reason that you lost, or may I suggest one, That you are not good enough to get the players to play at a decent level for the league your in.

Correction. Gulf not golf. 3 a large difference or division betweentwo people or groups, or betweenviewpoints, concepts, or situations: the widening gulf between the rich andthe poor.

Best bit of that video was when he was having a moan about his poor little players getting injured on the 3G there were some little girls in the background doing gymnastics and throwing themselves around on that same pitch.I guess those little gymnasts might be a bit tougher than his players

To be fair to Jamie Day it was the interviewer for Radio Gillingham who bought the whole subject of 3g up,Day didn't mention it until he was pushed into it.
The interviewer almost invited him to moan and blame the pitch. Then he ran his gob off about 3g,which then sounded like a bitter and twisted little rant,as he had already moaned about everything else.
Someone at the club needs to talk to the radio people,or put them too the back of the list when they want future interviews from our people,if we get a tasty draw tomorrow they will want so much from us and a good commentary position,i hope BBC-RK apologize
The local radio NEED to realize how damaging this might be.

Credit to our management team for preparing the lads, and getting the team to excellent fitness levels.
