I am taking that idea praise back Tim because what will happen is poeple with a season ticket could quite easlily purchase two tickets on the same day. Not under my system whereby you use your entry ticket to the game on saturday as a voucher allowing you to buy a ticket for the Welling game. After that you could offer season ticket holders and VPs their tickets on Sunday and the remainder on general sale on Monday. That way those that turned up Saturday would be able to get a ticket on Saturday. Are you then saying that season ticket holders can't purchase a ticket until after everyone else who turns up on Saturday? Great idea, I can wait to see their faces when they turn up on Sunday and no tickets are left

Those that enter the match on Saturday as paying on the gate get a voucher. Season ticket holders and VPs that are at ground on Saturday already have proof of entry (i.e. their season ticket) can go get their ticket. Once that has gone then season ticket holders that didn't go Saturday and VPs can get first priority on Sunday. After that it is general sale. I knew there would be some dimwit who couldn't quite get such a simplistic system.

If Southwick's figures are correct (Welling have been allocated 32 seats, plus 300 standing), and assuming this represents the maximum 15% they are allowed under FA rules (it would typically only be less if the local police decide to reduce it, and I can't see any reason why Maidstone plod would do that), then our capacity is 2,213!
Which is pretty close to the 2,226 it was raised to for the Brighton match. So, despite all the rumours and comments about the capacity being increased since, it apparently hasn't been.
Incidentally, this means we have only 1,894 tickets officially available for Stones fans. I have no idea how many ST holders, VPs and supporters club members there are, but I'd guess about half these tickets will go to them. Which leaves less than 1,000 on general sale.

When the ground opened the capacity was 2226 since then another section at the town end has been added plus a few extra seats by the players tunnel . So whats the reasons for the capacity not being increased by a couple of hundred ?

We all know our current capacity is way to low for us as a club because of the growth we have seen since returning to the town. The stand extension will help in the summer by another 300 or so seats but I think we need more terracing too.the riverside is crying out for some terrace like the style behind the goals I'm aware of the water main problem but I don't see it as a major problem shifting them out the way in the unlikely event access was needed. We shouldn't have the situation where we are turning fans away from our big games? I realise this all costs money we probably don't have so I sympathise with the board, they are doing there best and in my view doing a fine job!

Whilst I can see the commercial reasons for opting for adding seats, what the average fan needs (and not just for the big games) is better sight-lines. In short, more terracing.
This doesn't have to be massively expensive - for instance adding another section or two to the town end 'shed' would not only be very welcome to the fans, but would make that end pretty intimidating for away keepers. And an even cheaper solution would be to put in some basic terracing along the pitch sides - nothing fancy, but just two or three steps, so that people can see over the person in front.
Judging from today's game (where, although the ground looked full, the 'other' end emptied out in the second half, but the town end still wasn't too crowded), the ground can easily hold the current capacity. And I would guess, if we can get permission to increase capacity, it could comfortably hold 2,500, even 3,000 with an extended town end terrace.
But, as has been pointed out on here before, it isn't quite that simple. It's not just a case of cramming in as many fans as we can - people might put up with that for the big games, but will they keep turning up if they know they're not going to be able to see much of the game, or their kids won't be able to see any of it?
If we just increase capacity, without worrying about the fans' point of view, we'll be OK for the big games, but I suspect we'll find it difficult to increase our regular attendance much beyond the 2,000 mark, simply because fans coming to the game late, or in inclement weather, will know they won't get a decent view.
The way things are at the moment, even with the improvement in performance and the likelihood of promotion, our attendance isn't going to improve greatly (as this season's gates seem to be proving). But, some basic and limited increase in the terracing, on the other hand, will get the new and casual fans coming back and becoming regulars.

There was me thinking the i meant independent. Meaning that they are separate from the club so the club would be under no obligation to offer them any tickets before general sale. Going with your arguement, I assume the club won't accept the donations from iMUSC's fundraising efforts come the end of the season then?

Why would the club not accept any fund raising donations?
