I wonder how many will be attending there first game of the season and how many will be miss there first game. A free for all is not the fairest way as some will be queuing over and over again, time for a loyalty scheme I think.

By gad you've got it, ob1. I will spend thousands getting friends and family to buy up all the tickets and then only the Welling fans will be in the terrace/standing part of the ground. Just need to get £20k finance to get my cunning plan into operation

Wind ups / Moans / NWS' face aside, whatever the club announces with regards to tickets somebody somewhere will be pissy about it.

I remember one home FAC game Gillingham had (Villa? Sheffield Wednesday?) where you could only buy tickets at a reserves game a week or two before.
Cue huge crowd for said reserves game - which was then called off because of the weather!
And at one time West Ham used to have tokens printed in programmes and you could save these up and use them to get priority for cup games, etc.
As for the last play-offs - I wasn't a season ticket holder and there wasn't a supporters club then, and I wasn't able to get down to the club until all the tickets had been sold, so I missed the play-off. I wasn't exactly pleased when a FB friend of mine posted about what a great game the play-off had been - he had previously only been to see the Stones two or three times! I was even less happy when he revealed that he'd been offered two tickets, despite the club saying it was strictly one ticket per person...

Our grounds too small for us is the bottom line .Its a tough call and a hard decision for the club to make.i have a season ticket and membership to both supporters clubs,so wont be inconvenienced ,but its not right for fans to travel to the club without a game on,just to purchase a ticket. The club had about a day or two to sort this..They need a re-think so hasty decisions are not made.
I personally think all tickets should go on sale on Saturday, with different on-sale times for the different groups, VP AND ST first say at 11am for two hours,1pm it opens to Fan club members,3pm match starts ,then at full time, start general sale ,any over will be up for sale when the office opens again on Tuesday all sales at one per person.
Only trouble then would be those who cant attand Saturdays game.(but average says 1600plus will be there)
A phone or email system needs to be in place ,booking fees and postage fees all need to be added.
We are the best supported non league club in Kent and 5th biggest in Southern England, lets not hope we are the SLOWEST LEARNERS.The clubs huge were on the up.we will have this situation every month soon.
If we are to believe its Police advice, that its all ticket as it will be a capacity. We need to make provisions for all ticket V Dulwich Tonbridge Margate and a possible two playoff finals.
Surely its better to sit down and put a proper and fair system in place now ,rather than wait till 5 minutes before the next big game situation.
our success is an on going situation, the situation will occur again

Totally agree. Ok, the club hasn't handled this as well as they perhaps could have, but I'm ok with that as long as lessons are learned and procedures are put into place for the next big all ticket game that are clear, fair and cater more to the fans that turn up every week for the 'non-showpiece' games.
We are not going to be a non-league club forever, so now is a good time for the club to look at improving it's ticket procedures/customer service to match that of a league club.
In a world of internet and smart phones, surely having to turn up to a ticket office on a non-game day at a specific time, with the correct number of people you want tickets for, is a bit outdated.

Does anyone really think this will sell out anyway? Based on this seasons lower home average, the fact the cup games have thus far been less well attended, and the fact that Welling are unlikely to bring too many, are we not all getting in a state about nothing? I'd love to see a full house for the game but up until it was made all ticket I didn't think it would sell out. It seems that by making it all ticket (noted that this followed Police advice) there is a panic setting in which is fuelling demand! What we could do with is a bit more terrace or seating space so that the ridiculous cap imposed on capacity is relaxed and we therefore avoid all ticket matches for all but the biggest games.

"Does anyone really think this will sell out anyway?" Assume our capacity is around 2,500 (why is it that no one actually seems to know what our capacity is?!!) Assume Welling get 450 tickets That leaves 2,050 on sale for home fans We got 1,800 for a not particularly interesting league game two weeks ago, with very few away fans So, yes, I DO think another 250 home fans might just turn up

why cant they sell general sale tickets at the same time as season tickets and fan club members? It's not as if the club doesn't know how many ST VP and FC members there are, any of that are not taken up are resold on the Tuesday!

I am not sure its been said before but this calaisangleterre man seems to know a lot about Maidstone Utd and all of its going ons and I cannot believe its not Oliver Ash. I have read his views nearly everytime, if it is not Oliver then there seems to be a person to intelligent for this board!! Tim I agree, if there are 600 season ticket holders and VIP tickets they should keep them to one side and sell them all at the same time. Also it wuld make Saturdays game a probable full house.

I am taking that idea praise back Tim because what will happen is poeple with a season ticket could quite easlily purchase two tickets on the same day.
