Well done on your self-improvement programme. Although as comparisons go it's a bit like a Vauxhall Viva claiming to sound like a Rolls Royce Nope, just realised what a complete and utter bell end I was being. 'was being'....guffaw, guffaw, guffaw

Just to tie up the loose ends on this thread about iMUSc and the club. The i does indeed stand for independent. Should the club ever get unscrupulous owners we could provide a platform for the supporters to protest or whatever else they wanted to do. As it is we have very good and approachable owners. During the summer we had a bit of dialogue with the club viz a vis working a bit more closely. As such they provide little bits of help for us when they can and we, in turn, are looking at ways we can help them (after all we all want Maidstone United to prosper). As with anything that works in partnership like this they occasionally say they cannot help or support us with some things because they don't think it would be right and conversely we say the same thing. As things go we have a pretty good relationship and the idea that we would raise monies for things for the club is one example of that. The club have not come cap in hand to us or anything like that but we do work together to think about it. At present we arrange a few trips, nights out etc and if a portion of the profits made from such ventures helps buy somethig for the club then that seems a good thing for me.

With other all ticket games on the horizon I very much hope the club take on board problem this time around. I now have two tickets iam so relived but I am shocked that it's still not a 1900 sell out. pro clubs up and down the country have loads of different ticketing systems so it's finding the best for us fans and the club , I would like to see the club and the Imusc get together on this one for a brainstorming exercise into the fairest and easiest way to do this in future.

Ticketing is not really soemthing iMUSC should be involved in. Surely fans in general could make suggestions with the hope that they will be viewed positively. I thought the suggestion that we use a voucher system on the Leiston game to allow tickets to be sold to all on Saturday was a good one. It may simply be that there was not enough time to put such a plan into action. I don't know. But maybe it would be a valid one for future thought. Although I was a little peeved that, due to sheer bad timing, I would miss out on a ticket I also happen to think that a)We may have enticed a few more through the door on Saturday if tickets were on sale to people who had a voucher from Saturday's game and b) people who lived a little way away and were regular supporters but not season ticket holders could have bought a ticket more easily. c)the supporters that are regular at the Gallagher would be more likely to get a ticket rather than being usurped by someone just turning up for the big games. It may be that, on that front, there was nothing to worry about. However, an all ticket game usually comes about because a large crowd is expected and there is usually more demand than supply.
These were just thoughts of mine. They were not moaning just thoughts and ideas that came from 30-40 years of watching football at many, many grounds throughout the country. I'm only interested in our club doing well and the people that regularly support getting to see the big games not just the run of the mill games. Hardly a crime but you would have thought I'd hung someone!
I note with interest that the majority of the 'there was nothing to worry about' brigade appeared on 19th or after.

When I saw Shatty was the latest poster to said thread I had a shuddering fear that nothing meaningful would be added. To that end I was not disappointed.

I need to seek advise on the 'whoosh rules' from Islandstone, but I'd like to recall my whoosh! Is this allowed IS?

If ticket issues are a concern to the supporters of this club that imusc represents then it is something that we should explore with club. I would ask all supporters to let a committee member know of any idea's / thoughts that they may have so we can have a positive meeting with the club

Hindsight is always a wonderful thing. It does seem to me, as I said in an earlier post, that we all slightly over-estimated the potential for a ticket scramble for this match. I am sure if the club had their time over again they would have put the tickets on general sale at the game on Saturday, but it's a lesson learnt. We need to remember that this is the first time the club has been in this situation since it reformed, so everybody has to learn as they go how to do these things. It's always easy to criticise when you are not the ones who have to make the decisions, and when you are armed with hindsight!
If we win on Saturday and draw league opposition at home in the next round, then the structure for ticket sales used for this game might actually be the correct way to go again since the level of interest will go up a very big notch.

Have all the tickets for this game now been sold and did Welling sell theirs or request any more?

I don't see the problem with the ticketing for this match. We are talking about one possible sell out this season so far, if we were filling the stadium up every other home game then I am sure there would be somethnig different in place. Unless we win on Saturday and have a home match in the next round, Tonbridge at home on NYD is the next potential sell out. Welling have about 100 or so left and not sure about us but we have probably that amount to may be less.

Snitch that is fair enough, but just to clarify, I meant it's the first time we have had a fourth round FA cup tie against Conference Prem opposition and so it was perhaps not easy to work out if there would be a mad scramble for tickets or not. It would be interesting to know if the tickets sell out; the official website says they are still be available tonight at the ground and so I guess the answer at the moment is, they are still available. The pre-match article on there re-emphasises it is an all-ticket game but if we get to the day and there are still a couple of hundred available, surely they will sell them at the turnstiles?

Apparently Welling still had 150 left this morning. Will the police allow them to sell any remaining tickets on the day? Surely that would defeat the object of making it all ticket in the first place.

Surely that would defeat the object of making it all ticket in the first place. This proves one thing! Big scare about nothing. Making this an all ticket affair was a gross miscalculation by the Kent Police. I will never vote for Ann Barnes as she cannot get the KP to prioritise properly. Worry about crime not an undersubscribed fa qualifying match.
