Great to see The Hamlet get a near capacity 3000 gate yesterday. Non League Day and Pay what you Want obviously helped to swell the ranks. I always look forward to Stones / Hamlet games because over the years they have always provided great entertainment home or away. Would anyone else agree that they are probably the best club that the Stones play/ have played with ' friendly ' rivalry over the years ? If not, who would be your choice ? Champion Hill has always been a great away venue to go to and I hope that The Hamlet are able to sort out their financial situation there - gates like this would help, that is if anyone actually paid to get in that is ?! Pinkpanthers thoughts on this would be interesting ?! Great start to the season for The Stones and for those who seem to like to criticise all the time on this forum - remember where we were 3 seasons ago !! COYS.

Totally agree, a club that oozes class and does things the right way.
They were fully behind us on the 3G debate and they had more reason than most to be against, having lost every time they've played on it, namely 5-0, a cup final and to a last minute winner. (I notice Kingstonian are already talking about the "plastic pitch" ahead of Tuesday's game)
The recent games against them have been an exceptional advert for non league football and I hope many if those who went to Champion Hill yesterday will take the club to heart and return on a regular basis.
When they beat us to the Ryman South title it will go down as them winning by a single point but in reality they were denied an additional 3 points owing to the game against Leatherhead having to be replayed when Dulwich were 2-0 up with a few minutes left.
They have also given clubs the opportunity to see one of the best players you will see at non league level in the little Turkish guy.
Fantastic club, fans, team and attitude,

Critisisms ... are not always bad and sometimes they are constructive, everyone express themselves as they see fit, unfortunately, we are not always made popular by what we say. I have only been going to the games in the last couple of years, mainly due to the fact that we are now playing in our town and I am learning through more matured supporters about the history of this very friendly club. I enjoyed going to Champion Hill last season and was very impressed by the welcoming and fair support to their team as well as the light hearted banter that we exchanged, the result wasn't what we wanted, but we did rectified it in the return fixture at our place. Yesterday's their attendance was obviously boosted by the fact that it was National Non League Club's Day ! and also that it was "pay what you like" but if we look at the others attendances, everyone had a better than average turnout, so it is great to see that all the clubs got in the spirit of the day and hopefully, those who came for the first time will return, I am somewhat baffled by out some clubs survive with such a low number of supporters at their games. Like everyone, I wish D.H. a long and succesful existence as well as a successful season as long as we finish above them and gain promotion as it is our desired aim this year !!

Couldnt agree more with the above comments Dulwich are probabley the only non league team id not feel to sore about lossing out to in all honesty (if it happened again lol unlikley) Who knows, if they keep increasing their attendences and we dont they may overtake us up the pyrimid in time, anyway ive done enough back patting our friendly rivals how about we start giving jay and the boys one once in awhile too! we've been playing and forming fantasticly in what ive been to watch (minus mangglegate). Ill continue this on a seprate thread i think.... if their aint one already.

Well said pezza and all above, I also enjoy my trips to Champion Hill, also enjoy games at Kingstonian too. Would also like too see more praise, now and again, for our lads too. Anyone know what Jays win percentage is ? I expect it is rather high. Criticism can be good Frenchstone, but only if it's constructive not destructive, which, unfortunately is what a lot of the negative dross on this forum is. And yes I know everyone has a right to their opinion.

Don't really get the Dulwich love in but they are okay I suppose. Hate losing to them as much as any other club. Just saying

Bearing in mind that Hamlets ground isn't too dissimilar to ours- got to question how their capacity is 3000 and our is nearer to 2300 Any ideas anyone?

There goes our 'highest attendance in the league' boast before the season's even really got underway! Don't worry too much, it was a "one-off" due to the fact that they let everyone with a "pay what you want" scheme to celebrate the "Non- league football day !! ... Come down on Tuesday night and your attendance will be boosted by one !! lol

As a Faversham fan, I can confirm Maidstone aren't the only club to really like Dulwich Hamlet. Really miss our trips there. Hopefully, we'll be going back there - and of course to a certain other ground - next season It is little wonder so many talents come out from the Hamlet youth system.

There was a mutual respect with Dover (and a mutual dislike of Dartford) a few seasons back. Their chairman's anti-3G stance has taken the edge off that, plus of course we've not met them for a year or 2 now.
Been to Dulwich 3 times - a 0-0 in 1(S) 1st time around, the 1-1 just over a year ago and a weird friendly v Fisher with the 2nd half 9-a-side.

Did anyone else read the title of this thread and think it was about some press story regarding a scandal at Dulwich Hamlet?
