Thanks to Ant, Adrian and everyone that helped to organise a very enjoyable evening. Great fun. Thought we played far better than last year and with a bit of luck we could have scored a couple. When your up against a back four that includes Jack and Tom Parkinson and Wardy you know its going to be tough. Yet again Jay ran rings around us, this time for 90 mins. Fantastic evening, long may this annual fixture continue.

Spot on mate, well done. What a slog. I feel the tactics didn't work out as planed though. Immense effort everyone.

...and to reiterate what was said at the start of this post... many thanks to all who organised this evening. I really enjoyed getting the chance to run out and play again. I thought I was still young running around up front - it all seemed to be going ok even if the ball was somewhat elusive. Then I reverted to centre back and found I had forgotten all I knew, including how to stay on my feet. Didn't enjoy the 'carpet burn' but that serves me right for falling over I had a good laugh with the guys and expended some physical effort in the sun before downing a few beers. Excellent and much appreciated

If it wasn't for poor refereeing we could have won that. Clearly not a penalty for them then when their player attempts to cheat by taken the penalty early does the ref send him from the field of play. No he lets him take it again. Their goalie moved long before our penalty was taken and as for the foul that happened on Andy Bruce leaving him sprawling in the middle of the park. Disgraceful! to cap it all, when their legs had gone after 75mins and we were quite clearly starting to pass them off the pitch and would have reduced and surpassed the illegally gained goal margin the ref blew early.
You wait until the second leg on Herne Bay beach....see if the superstars like it there

Having said that...it was rather good fun wasn't it.
I am limping around with a very sore knee today after my initial introduction to the game saw me go sprawling. Bill said it was nothing but I suspect that was because he had to from a legal angle. I can hardly get my knee through the door today it is so swollen...well maybe it's not quite that swollen but you get the idea. My claim will be with Bill on Monday

If we're getting humped by the gills then I'm glad I'm not playing. There would be a queue for my good looks.
