Having followed the Hereford, and now Salisbury saga I have huge amounts of sympathy for the supporters of both and hope in time both football clubs can recover.
If Dartford and Tonbridge get a reprieve then good luck to them, it's not a nice way to "stay up" but in reality they have kept within the rules and should benefit at the expense of clubs who have not kept within those rules.
If clubs sign players they can't pay for that's on a par with cheating in my book, why should clubs benefit from a luxury they can't afford? If Barcelona failed to pay Lionel Messi's wages I'm sure the rest of the footballing world (who he has played against) would want some sort of compensation.
Not so long ago, Oliver Ash had an article in the NLP regarding clubs being more transparent with their finances, and surely with this annual "bid for survival" by a small number of clubs, which has an impact on so many other clubs, Oliver's suggestion needs to be looked at.
I appreciate he is the "villain of the peace" in Conference circles but what with his points on non league clubs not being rewarded for bringing young English talent through, clubs finances and 3G, surely it's time his words were listened to rather than ridiculed by others outside of our club.

This is sounding like Dartford and Tonbridge will both now stay up No problem with that.shame we lose a Derby game but rules is rules after all. What may benefit us ,is if Bradders ,who recently re signed with the Darts, does not want all the travelling that the Conf Prem requires he may want out now?
Any chance of a call Jay !!
Oh and may as well grab his brother too. ;-)

Interestingly another anti 3Gite has stood down, Mansell Wallace of Chelmsford City......didn't he struggle to pay his players wages.....and no sliding tackles on 3G !

Its seems to me that the conference would be unable to make decision about anything even if thier life depeneded on it. They epitomise everything that is wrong with the game. Perhaps the chairman should apply for Sepp Blatters job seems the ideal candidate.

Salisbury threatening legal action against Conference if thrown out. This could carry on for a while yet!
Why have well run clubs like those with 3G when life in the Conference can be so much more fun with Hereford, Salisbury, Vauxhall Motors.....?
Who is next on this list? Chelmsford City might be favourites?

Interestingly, I've just read something about the Conference processes not being "watertight" and this has invited legal action from Salisbury.
I suspect the headline on the front of the NLP on Sunday will include the word "Blackmail", and you may even read the phrase "that in my opinion is not the way to do business"
Other words to look out for: bullying, shambles, rules, pathetic, unprofessional
A 3G vote to "protect" their members? I'm sure the innocent parties of Dartford, Tonbridge et al are feeling pretty "protected".....especially when other clubs in the conference have in effect been cheating.

Salisbury will participate in the Conference South next season, giving Dartford a reprieve back into the Conference Premier. Due to Salisbury and Dartford 'changing leagues', Tonbridge will be stuck in the Ryman Prem next season. Happy Days .

Had been wondering how/where/why Tonbridge's reprieve was coming about. Shame tho, would've loved to have seen the squad they're assembling trying to compete in the CS next year.
Now, Elliot...

It needs a better brain than mine to work out why Hereford were thrown out of the Conference altogether but Salisbury only relegated to Conference South for failing to meet Conference requirements. Inevitably, the Conference doesn't explain this.

Dartford Dover derby in the conference. Could be a potential 'mutual away day' for me next season.

Many thanks, Calais. Deadlines were made that Salisbury failed to keep. It is astonishing that they are given more time, rather than having a club with its affairs in at least some sort of reasonable order, especially as I understand that there will be no more retrievements after the AGMs. If Salisbury fail again the Conference will have to operate with one short. That and the 3G rejection just show how little weight the Conference gives to having clubs with a good business model. Yet all this does is give the Conference a bad name and a lot of hassel. Crazy!
