I'm guessing nothing. I never even suggested it Whereas you seemed to pass your opinion as a statement of fact

Sad to see Zac go but, in reality, although he is still a young player, it is impossible to ignore the sums of money being mentioned for this level of football. I wish Zac every success in achieving his dream to play at a higher level, but I hope that it is as part of a mass exodus of Margate players when they fail to make the play-offs at the end of next season!

He was good but not worth that sort of money . Lacks ambition , also with no higher league teams coming in for him tells its on story . Good luck Zac its a shame your just playing for the money at a lesser club :/

Football's not just about the money.
he has not achieved anything to suggest he can play at a higher level,so a great move for him.
Attwood has just had his best season ever, there is no guarantee that he will repeat that form. His wage at Margate is based on one seasons form.
Absolutely blows the myth of MUFC having the biggest budget and wage structure out of the water .So thanks Margate.

A striker cannot score goals unless he has the support of his team. We shall have to see whether the rest of the Margate side can supply Zac with balls he needs.(No pun intended)

He's not the first and I'm sure he certainly won't be the last to jump ship to margate over the last 5/6 yrs Plenty have left us for them for money matters/reasons! We've survived move on! He will probably be back one day like others have! There's other forwards around let's pursue them!

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions on budgets as we've just signed one of their better players. Jay will be working within an overall structure and would have assessed what we wanted to pay Zac as part of that. He'll be looking and thinking who else he could get for similar money through contacts he may have but Margate don't.
It's not whether we can afford 800 a week (how much did we pay Rooney I wonder?!), it's how much of the total budget does Jay want to spend on Zac. In this instance he decided he wasn't worth what we'd have to pay to keep him and that he could get better for the money be that extra players or quality in a different position.
I've been a big fan of Zac's and am grateful for the effort, desire and attitude he's shown and wish him well in the future. That being said I think he's making a big mistake for his career in the long term. Sometimes you have to consider potential versus immediate £ gains and I think Zac will come to regret the move in the long term. Who's more likely to help him realise his dream of the football league in the next 5 years?
In the short term hope he enjoys the extra 5k per year after tax, should make up for the pleasure of playing in front of 350 every other week! Still at least it'll be easy to pick out the football league scouts who make it out to Margate to watch him, particularly among the 200 or so there on a Tuesday in mid winter!!

Enjoy the money , and hope Margate can fulfil the contract . They are a classic case for a club which will either slash it's budget or run out of money before the seasons end .

Zac had improved during his time here and for the sort of money involved I really cant blame him.

I know next to nothing about Margate - how can they afford to pay a player £800 a week on their gates?
