I wish he would elaborate on his 'footballing reasons' as i have no doubt this would be the usual hearsay and illinformed views based on a foundation of ignorance.
For the anti brigade to say footballing reasons in relation to our pitch is like saying 'Play on that Wembley surface, pah not us!'

jealousy, fear, crap stadium, crap fans, crap town. Why are you attacking the fans of another club and a whole town (although I am a little unsure which town you are attacking) because one person has complained about us. The topic was about Peter Varney attacking the Stones and their potential legal challenge to the 3g decision by the Conference. You seem to be off topic.

Football reason is that we don't want a club like Maidstone resurfacing with it's 1500+ crowds because that will make it harder for us to get anyone through the gates for our team.I am also a little jealous that our experiment failed and you blighters seem to have hit on something that will be sustainable.

he is attacking the town of ebbsfleet you idiot lol A word of advice from an oldster - sometimes it's best to wait an hour before posting! Especially if it's NWS you are replying too, there is the occasional subtlety in his madness.

Indeed, Headstone. However, I must admit to having a soft spot for young Apron and don't feel the need to hand out the messageboard justice that others receive. Maybe I'm just a sucker for all the lolling

This anti - Maidstone feeling from Dartford , Dover & Ebbsfleet is revealing. They realise our potential & must destroy us as if we were to continue to grow we will be able to attact better players.

Out of interest has anybody seen a letter from the chairman of any other club addressed to the head of the FA outlining what they believe are the issues faced by non league clubs? Or is it much easier to sit back and criticise Oliver Ash for his actions? Rather than offer up any solutions to the postponements, bad pitches and lack of funding for academies etc? Can't wait until we win the World Cup this summer now that so many clubs seem to think there is no room for improvement at any level of the game in this country.

Ebbsfleet is a very fine disused quarry and railway station.
Gravesend and Northfleet also have some plus points as inhabited conurbations.

www.kentonline.co.uk/gravesend_messenger/sport/varney-hits-back-in-stones-13029/Ebbsfleet United have responded angrily to Maidstone United’s promise of legal action in their fight to get 3G pitches accepted by the Football Conference. Conference clubs voted against the proposal to allow artificial surfaces at an EGM in Telford last month, meaning the Stones – who play on 3G at their Gallagher Stadium – wouldn’t be allowed up next season. Maidstone have consulted lawyers and are prepared to take the Conference to a tribunal, news which has gone down badly at Stonebridge Road. Fleet vice-chairman Peter Varney said: "It was disappointing to hear that Maidstone United are considering taking legal action over the recent decision by Conference clubs not to allow artificial pitches in the Conference Premier and Conference North and South. "I think it is well-documented that we are against the introduction of artificial surfaces. In short, it is a football argument versus a commercial argument. "Maidstone are directing a lot of criticism at the Conference board, which is unfair, as this was a decision taken by member clubs and, of course, Maidstone is not a member club. "If the matter does go to court, it will be for clubs like ours to fund the legal costs, which again is unfair. "If member clubs democratically come to a vote on any key issue and those against the decision taken resort to threats and legal action to try and overturn the decision, it is not – in my view – the way to do business."
