MUFCTV buck their ideas up and give us a live feed! ;-) The internet connection is too wonky in the main stand. Got everything in place to go live though, Oliver wanted a feed for the playoff final so everything was put in place for that.

Is that why tonight's scheduled under 18 match vs Chatham was postponed?

No, it was due to a waterlogged pitch.

Stop worrying folks. I'm sure the club is quite capable of sorting this out with being reminded of it by a bunch of supporters in a forum. This is dangerous thinking. What happens if this idea gets out and people start to ask well what's the point of supporters' forums then? Surely, there IS a point to them? Yes. They provide a welcome playground for the likes of me

All lights on full as I went past today - at 3pm! It was bright and sunny at the time.
Makes you wonder what our electricity bill is like...

It costs £100 every time they're turned on.

Just that - a hundred quid? No matter how long for?
I'd have them on all the time then. Save on bulbs as well - they always blow just as you turn them on...

Having got used to PL football during Maidstone's lost years (I hang my head in shame for not being a TRUE FAN...), where the lights seem to be on permanently, it was quite nostalgic at the last Stones home game, to see the lights come on during the game, as the daylight faded.
It's a disappointingly smooth and silent process at the Gallagher, but it brought back memories of the old lights at London Road, stuttering and crackling into life (or, in some cases, not) - steam rising from the rapidly heating bulbs.
Those old lights were gloriously ineffective as well, leaving many parts of the pitch in relative shade. Depending on who we were playing (i.e. the colour of the strip), players sometimes seemed to literally fade in and out of the game. And on those rare occasions where you saw us on the telly, it always looked like we played in a patchy, yellow, gloom - not like the brilliant lights you saw on 'proper' TV games.
And talking of how strips looked under those lights - our strip always stood out amazingly well, it really seemed in tune with those old lights. The game would be transformed (visually, at least!) when the lights came on. And woe betide us if we were playing a side in light green or blue - they would practically disappear. There would be ten brightly illuminated yellow beacons running round the pitch, apparently playing no one, and then, every now and again, the ball would mysteriously move on its on accord - with just the hint of a vaguely defined figure following it.
Ah, them were the days. Who wants to be able to see all the play on all of the pitch. eh? Takes the fun out it completely. At this rate, we'll end up with decent lights, plastic pitches and roofed stands so the fans don't get wet! Sheer decadence. Mark my words, go on like this and fans will be SITTING DOWN at games!!

£100 just to turn on. Then running costs there after. Thought you were clever?

Nah. I'm a football fan - thick as pies us lot.
Anyway, how does that work - is it some sort of electricity company standing charge, or is it just the average figure of the maintenance costs of turning on the lights (blown bulbs, etc)?
Pity we can't have electricity generation based on fart power. The guy who usually stands behind me at the Town End could run the entire game for free!
I wonder if he's ever noticed that we don't come back to his side for the second half...
