I doubt very much that he is in contention for that danny - to much of an expert to lower himself for consideration ( probably off somewhere else practicing dribbling) Mind you I guess that the Stone's groundsman doesn't stand much chance either! It does highlight the fact, though, that although 3G obviously makes sense that there are, I guess you call them purists, that would rather play on grass no matter what but using a very ' blinkered ' approach to the reality of the whole discussion !? Everyone should be able to voice their opinion ( no matter how bizarre) but when it comes to a vote it should be one man/ woman/ team one vote - after everyone has had a chance to put forward their point of view. Which was obviously very lacking on Wednesday !!!? COYS.

Given the total ignorance of everything Maidstone i cant see Groundspleb being a Stones fan and as he has disappeared for now far more likely to be an oppo muppet on a wind up and has grown tired for a while of his games and has realised he got the opposite effect to what he was looking for.

I'm curious as to where the £125,000 a year comes from. Many City last year advertised a groundsmand post with a wage of about 14K. The institute of groundsman guidlines say a groundsman at a top sporting venue could earn between 31K to 45K. I think who ever this is (Ant) needs to do a lot more digging about before comeing on here making a complete idiot of themselves
My brother in law was head green keeper at The London Golf Club before moving to the west country and he earnt a very low wage.
Still, even 45K is not worth getting out of bed for.

A pauper like me would leap out of bed for 45,000 lol.
That article was ancient and has been bounded about before and was largely seen as a blatant panic stricken deliberate groundsmans propaganda attack against artificial surfaces for fear of them becoming wide spread in the english game while simultaneously making groundsman across the land an endangered species the article has long since been discredited.
However with his 125,000 a year (im guessing Lira) im sure he will be able to retain his lifestyle choice even if grass became extinct!
