We well deserved to win that. After an even first half Maidstone dominated the start of the second and got the winning goal we were due.
Watty & Sobers looked good together again.
Taking Booth off with 15 to go and sort of adopting a 4 - 5 - 1 sends out a negative message - we're satisfied come and attack us....
As for Ricay at the end rucking with the Officials - grow up guys, offside clearly given before any possible penalty offence.

Thought we struggled a bit in first half after catching them cold at the start & they deserved to equalise but I did think Watt was fouled in he build up to their goal. Second half we started really well & should probably have been 2 or 3 ahead. Final ball sometimes was a bit wayward but build up play in second half very good. Then in last 10 mins we took our foot off the pedal & theycame back into it. Didn't really see what happened right at the end but it was a bit like the Alamo back there. All in all I think we deserved the win but need to play for the whole game, not just spells otherwise teams will punish us

Fully deserved the win. 15 mins of football after half time was superb. And yes Linesman had clearly flagged for offside before the penalty incident. Player wise I thought Flish was again well below par and I do still worry about Sobers but thought Phillips and especially Brown were very good. And sullivan was also impressive. 10pts from 4 games is a great start. #COYS

First 15 minutes of second half were absolutely sublime. Don't think many teams from the next two divisions would live with us when we play like that. Brown and Collin superb and another great performance from Sullivan at RB.

I've been watching the Stones since I moved here in 2001 and that 20 mins at start of the 2nd half was the best I've seen from a Maidstone team or any other at this level. The beauty of football is that due to excellent defending and some poor finishing we didn't finish them off and we had some heart-stopping moments in the last 5mins. Orlando will take the plaudits but Philips was immense and dominated the game until he tired in the last 10 mins. The level of football is light years ahead of what we saw at the start of last season and I think the pitch continues to give decent players the confidence to play the right way. I thought last season with the homecoming, it would be hard to beat, but if anything this season is already more enjoyable.

Really good win tonight. As others have said, the start of the 2nd half tonight was sensational. Heart in the mouth time at the end and for a minute, several of us in the town thought we had conceded a penalty. Still joint 2nd in the league after 4 games is pretty good

I still think that Sobers had a nightmare again. I think an operation to remove his feet from his shins and put them back on his ankles would help. He seems to have lost the confidence to jump for a header and is hitting passes short too much.
I agree we did edge it over the 90 minutes but Bill were a physical, mouthy side. You only have to look at the yellow cards they gave away during and after the game.
I think there are still too many passes that are coming up short and someone other than the main stand needs to tell Smith when he has someone breathing down his neck.
Anyway three points is three points

J.T, I think your being slightly over critical, the players at this level will make mistake otherwise they would be higher up the pyramid. Yes for his height you would think Jerome could jump better but other that I think him and watts together will be good.
Phillips and Brown in midfeild really making difference, dont know how they culd be left out, I thought Phillips was our best player last season and has got real drive to be all other the place and Brown is just quality.
Another good game with a very good start to second half, but need to get a 2 goal lead when your in the ascendency in this league as teams will come back and punish any sniff of a mistake.
The league seems of a higher standard than when we were in it before, or was that because were struggling a lot of the time then, the games just seemed poorer.

Sobers was immense at the end of last season. You're not telling me that he has turned into a worse player over a couple of months. At this level I would expect people to know how to hit a ball with enough pace so as to avoid the opposition. I would also expect them not linger too long on the bloody ball and lose it cheaply.
Still I always thought Takaloo was a complete donkey.

Cracking game and good atmosphere fair result and agree with earlier post may need to open up a 2 goal lead to ease the tension

The linesmans flag was up way before the "penalty" kudos to him for sticking to his guns. The Billericay reaction to it all was a tad humerous.
Sullivan at RB was fantastic, really impressed with him. considering he's only 17 he's got a great future ahead of him if he keeps playing like that.

Taking Booth off with 15 to go and sort of adopting a 4 - 5 - 1 sends out a negative message - we're satisfied come and attack us.... I don't disagree with Jay's decision. We had tired in midfield, and Billericay were cutting through us at will, leaving the defence under continuous pressure. Putting on an extra midfielder did stem the flow, and we looked more composed (until the last minute).

Admission fee justified by the first and last minutes alone.
The tantrums by the 'ricay ultras was hilarious - we seem to have gone full circle since "Wealdon" - we didn't know the rules about where to stand against them - and now we've come up against a mob who just don't know the rules. As has been said, the flag went up much earlier than the referee noticed (would've avoided all the fun if he had done). I was celebrating the offside and couldn't work out why their lot started celebrating. Was slightly concerned until the ref finally spoke to his assistant at which point there could've been no other outcome - contrary to the belief of those alongside my new hooligan friends in the left side Springfield end

Thought we played pretty well against a big stong team relegated from Conf South last year. It was clear their main game plan was to bombard our box with cross after cross and in the main we coped well.
Sully at right back was brilliant and a credit to the Academy and the club as a whole, it was a tough, physical game and he coped well and didn't look at all out of place.
We deserved the 3 points last night and in the cold light of day I'm sure the oppo fans would agree, we created all manner of great chances and could have scored another 2 or 3. That 20 mins after half time was brilliant and what a pleasure to watch wave after wave of intelligent, incisive attacking, it's a shame they didn't continue in this vain once they had scored the 2nd.
Another refreshing aspect of last night was a number of the routines which had clearly been worked on in training, the short corners were a joy to watch. And the winning goal looked as though it was something that had also been worked on.
Frannie Collin again showed his class with that finish and I can't wait for Saturday.
