Perhaps Carshalton aren't actually as bad as their 4-0 loss on Saturday suggests, and they did have a number of their 1st team players back last night.
Interesting to hear Jay's interview in that he singled out both Flish and Mills as not being at their best, which he often does when we don't play well.
Personally I thought our bigggest problem last night was Orlando and Flish both trying to do the same job and both getting in each others way (in terms of space on the pitch)
They are both natural wingers and so were both drifting out wide and not really knowing what was expected of either of them. I don't think playing 3 natural wingers was ever going to work,it's a shame for Flish that he had to make way.
No coinscidence that once Orlando went out wide he became more effective and at the same time Booth came on to play up front with Frannie, we looked much much better.
I disagree with a lot of what has been said about the midfield, although Brownie clearly made a difference. I actually thought Fabio played quite well but he is reliant on his midfield partner breaking up the play a little more.....unfortunately Danny Lye didn't have his best game and I can't help feeling in letting Lea Dawson go we have missed a trick with a player who is there to break up play. (I'm not surprised to see him now playing in the league above for Concord)
I do agree we need another "big" striker though because quite a lot is expected of Frannie at the moment.
All in all, 3 points is 3 points

Lea was all about the money and we just couldn't match his demands. Orlando's one of those players who is going to give the ball away because he's always looking for a killer move. Can't agree re Fabio, I thought he was poor throughout. He's clearly got talent but it wasn't on display last night, he gave it away far too cheaply and wouldn't put his foot in when needed. We were a different side when the midfield 2 were changed - although this was also down to the switch to 4-4-2. Seems strange that Jay has been so reliant on a basic 4-4-2 since he took over but now seems insistent that 4-3-1-1 is the way to go. Rethink certainly due based on the final half an hour yesterday.
Watt in for Andrews, Brown and Phillips in for Lye and Saraiva, and Booth for Orlando would be my shout for Saturday

4-3-1-1? If we started with only 9 outfield players then now wonder we struggled

I certainly think it's worth starting with Booth and Frannie.
Perhaps we need to be a little more patient with the young lads that have come in, re Jay's interview again, Richard Davies admited after the game on Saturday he was incredibly nervous prior to kick off....I mean who wouldn't be, going from playing in front of a couple of hundred to a couple of thousand?
I'm sure Fabio will get better and better

Vastly improved performance after the subs so credit to Jay for that, and surely he has to rethink his midfield choices and the idea of playing Frannie on his own. Orlando had some good involvement but fades in and out, so MOTM between frannie and sobers for me - Sir Garfield edging it Have to agree with the young Ant lad. Thought Phillips and Brown made all the difference, took control of the game, plus wirh Boothy up top with Collin we looked a lot better

the second burger van was open on saturday, also i find the gallagher does up its prices on these items, it would apear the powers that be think the bogstandard supporter as a millionare. I personally suffered this when the ground first opened. a bottle of bishops finger was £4, in sainsbury it was £1-79 and at chathams ground £2-60. needless to say my expendature within the gallagher is now minimal and when other fans feel the pinch and revenues drop it will be too late.

I have no inside knowledge on but my guess would be: The rent was set last year based on management thinking crowds would be 800-1000, that turned out to be 1600-2000, so the burger man had a result This year we've put the rent to what it should be, so he's jacked up his price! As I say just a guess! Agree with you toon, its silly money £3.50 for a bacon roll is ridiculous
