First home game in a new league attracted a massive attendance of 81. Is there really any point?

Seems a bit like our start in this division the first time round.

Exactly right Dave, our first four Ryman Premier League away days in Autumn 2007 ended 0 - 4, 0 - 7, 0 - 4 and 1 - 2. I well remember asking a fair minded Hendon supporter at the fourth of those away games if he could put his finger on why we were so cr&p..........
The jump up in standard to Ryman Prem seems to be the biggest in the pyramid ( which we've seem so far ), and I genuinely feel sorry for Thamesmead who have signed some good attacking players.
I guess the point of Thamesmead is the huge social club at Bayliss Avenue and the benefits / income that brings.
Our awayday there appears to be on a Tuesday in Jan 2014 - not the best of dates to check out the upgraded facilities.

I think they've done a lot of work on the stadium recently. I've never been but I'm guessing it won't be how some of our more dedicated away travellers remember it.
