Which in itself is a good point, aren't the powers that be at Thurrock risking the future of the club with this debacle?
Not just in the cost of these appeals but also the reputational damage to the club in the eyes of all other teams, fans, and officials effected.
If it was Maidstone United who had been part of this and been deducted 3 points that got us relegated I would hope our officials would focus on the problems that caused us to be that close to relegation as well as the reasons why the points were deducted.
Interestingly on their forum they are referencing us (and other clubs) in terms of the revenue from gates they will lose if the decision remains.

There isn't going to be much of a problem in how this affects Thurrock's future as far as I can see onthewayup.
If they fail in this European court, then they will just fold and if they succeed, then everyone will be against the FA and Ryman League (Although, some will attach blame to the club but they will be happy to live with that).
Whatever happens between now and Monday will be crucial I feel.
I do feel sorry for Thurrock, although, they do appear to be abit selfish now!
I mean fight your battle, fair enough. But, disrupt the running of 80 odd other clubs, come one that's not fair.
Out of interest, what happened to Croydon Athletic a few season ago? Did they just fold or did something happen there?
They managed to go quietly enough.
I don't have a problem with Thurrock defending themselves. They tried their best and failed, move on!

They say they are serving an injunction but has it actually been granted by the courts yet. As I understand it they will have to satisfy the court they have funds available to cover any losses arising if they they fail in the their appeal to court of arbitration. i.e any party who loses out through the injunction being issued if they fail.

Out of interest, what happened to Croydon Athletic a few season ago? Did they just fold or did something happen there? Their chairman was involved in the cricket spot-fixing scandal and was reportedly using the club to launder money. Without the income from the chairman, the club couldn't meet its outgoings, and folded. Nothing to do with the league or FA, so not a comparable situation.

Most clear cut article yet. Hopefully in the meantime the fixtures can come out (much like in Scotland with Team 12 when they weren't sure who'd be making up the SPL) and allow the rest of us to get on with things
