Hello,
There has been an incredible reaction to the MUFC v Calais fixture however the 7pm kick-off did present problems to foot passengers.
Tonight Oliver has agreed with Calais to change the kick-off time to 6pm which will give plenty of time for foot passengers to return to the port for check-in.
The ground is a five minute drive from the port and we will be providing a shuttle service after the final whistle. If you could email me if you need the shuttle so we know the numbers that would be great.
Any queries please do get in touch in the usual ways or even email me – nmiller@maidstoneunited.co.uk
See you Friday x

I agree with Bryan. Fantastic news for those now able to go as foot passengers. Big shout out to the French!

It takes the tension out for the car travellers too, I was expecting to have to miss the last ten minutes in order to negotiate the one way system and find the way back to the port. Do they serve hot pies at Calais footy ground?

Not so good if you've already booked your ferry ticket for a car - probably non-transferable, will check. Oh well, fit in a quick steak and chips in the hour that we'll now be left to fill, I suppose. (There's always one moaning, isn't there? Well today it's me!)

Even less time in Calais prematch...or can the coach now leave an hour earlier?! Hmmm, now as you know Ant I enjoy a beer, but with a 2 hour crossing each way and presumably the coach still booked on the original return ferry sailing, no potential pre / post match 'refreshment' is lost! And let's be honest an hour less of some of our lot 'endearing' themselves to the locals might be good, if we want to go back next year!

Tim Tim Tim, you and your lot with your footballing lives revolving around alcohol, it's quite pity inducing really. I was merely hoping for a few hours to have a look around and perhaps have a good meal.

Three Southport fans here looking forward to joining you on your Calais jaunt as we are staying in Maidstone that weekend. Nadine has very kindly offererd to accomodate us on the shuttle after the match but need to know which boats you are booked on there and back.
