I'm not going. Not paying £10 for a training game against lower opposition. Don't mean that in a bad way towards the Brickies, just with Calais the previous Saturday then Luton midweek something has to give.

I admit to visiting and reading other teams fans forum pages especially the likes of Tonbridge and others but i never contribute to them it's just wrong, anyway I digress my point is that my above post has been raised on the Shittingbourne forum and comments have been added, I won't be attending the game due to the behaviour of their players and supporters during the game we played at Bourne Park and also how some behaved during our cup game against them at the Gallaghers, this has nothing to do with sour grapes at the loss after all I have been a lifelong Newcastle supporters so I am accustomed to losing, no the reason i am not going is due to the way they acted still sticks in my throat and I unfortunately can't give my money to support them, good luck to those attending the game, lets see how much they appreciate your kind gesture before normal service resumes I dont blame you Toonarmy but its a good thing you wasnt around in the Kent League days as this happened regularly.

Indeed, Soulstone.
Toon would have missed a cup final against Moonshot Athletic (I know - sounds mouthwatering doesn't it?) because the previous game had seen the goalkeeper of said opposition punch one of our fans. What made it worse was that he punched one of the least offensive fans we had at that period.
Edit - Sorry this is an example of the County League days. A Kent League example would be VCD athletic and their carry on in our first season at Sittingbourne.

I stopped bothering to attend Tonbridge away games along similar lines. I am less bothered by the Sittingbourne players reaction that day because they had just spent their Saturday afternoon getting stick from a good many people behind the goal. As for the singing by thier fans...I am always mildly amused by the bitterness of a small contingent towards us. However, I also accept this as a bit of flattery because they are jealous that, even in the dark days, we filled their ground better than them.
