Does anybody know what sort of terracing is being added in the summer. Ive heard town end is getting more cover like the Library end but are we going to see any terraces on the River side as this to me is where we need it the most. And is the new Bar going to be a mobile unit as it is behind Town end. I guess were getting another burger van too or are we doing our own food next year?

I hope that if they are going to do something with the town end terracing they are able to raise the height of the base of the stand otherwise it will be the same problem as the Springfield end where the sight lines are so poor you cant even see the goal properly right in front of you. I know the clubs owners have spent a huge amount of money (for which we will be forever grateful) but its a shame that with a new ground we have this technical issue. The kids are the future of this club (as well as the oldies) but if the smaller young ones cant see much they may lose interest in coming which would be a shame. At the end of the day I'm sure the owners will do what's best for the club for now and the long run.

Rough it out for a couple of years then when we can afford the 250000 required to move the services / pipes under the west/riverside, we can put all the terracing from both ends down that side then just have to figure out where the hell the additional million plus to develope the ends will magically appear from.
Cant really blame the club for a minimal approach to improvements this summer. Success next season may demand a little more to be done but the above is pie in the sky for the time being.

I thought it was pretty much confirmed that the town end terrace would be expanded to the same size as the Springfield end and that there would be extra toilets and catering facilities at the Springfield end. Anything else would be expecting too much at this stage, not only for financial reasons but because of the time it takes to get planning applications through the system.

Extra catering and toilets were high on the agenda and possibly extra terracing as far as i remember. I just think the current terracing is ideal for the riverside when we can

Expanding too quick would not be sensible. Let's see what happens to crowds when we are not at the top, as may happen this year. It would be far more prudent to come up with a ticketing system, for big games, that rewards those that turn up regularly.
Extra toilets and maybe a little expansion at the Town end sounds good although expanding it too much may reduce the atmosphere as people become more spread out.

Strange how we have had conversations about it while in the LHS of the Springfield end then.

Strange how we have had conversations about it while in the LHS of the Springfield end then. Conversations usually ending with "Can you hear the town end sing? No, no" - which likewise cannot be heard from that far away

Can I just point out that from the main stand, when the atmosphere really gets going you can hear competing chants from both ends of the ground especially in the first half. Usually in the second half the springfield end empties out as everyone tries to congregate in the town end. At other times both ends are equally quiet.
I guess when you're in one end you can't always hear the other end. You'd probably be surprised how often you sing the "Can you hear the (insert opposition name) sing" chant when from the main stand they can be heard quite clearly.

Exactly the opposite would need to be done. The sightline problem is far worse at the Town End as the terrace is closer to the pitch. Raising the base of the stand without increasing the gradient would make the problem worse. The best thing that could be done to lessen this problem is to stop people standing in front of the terrace. This may be necessary anyway for access if the Town End is to be extended.

With only a month to go to our first friendly and no word about ground capacity increasing I would therefore guess it will be the same for next season. It seems to have all gone quite about extra tiolets, bar and catering which I cannot believe that these wont be addressed as these were the main moans regarding fans. Would be nice to here something like a directors blog, I have asked a couple of people within the club but nothing

All sounds very good to me, its good to see the club listen to the issues raised by the supporters and it is also good to see that there maybe a possible increase in the Official capacity
