Thanks StonedProf for the detailed analysis. Look forward to seeing to 3D model when it's finished. Like some others on here though, I'd be happy enough with Conference football.

I'm happy that we got back home and kids in Maidstone have a side to watch again. I never, ever want over-ambition and financial stuidity to ruin for them and their children etc etc

Segregation in the Conference is generally at the request of the Police and you'll find it is only enforced in high risk games. I've been to a few games over Darts & Fleet and most were unsegregated, its pretty much only Luton games where it is enforced.
I think segregation is mandatory in League 2 and it does cut down on the fun, but many will still let oppo fans drink in their clubhouses, such as Daggers, Exeter, Torquay, but then you'll come across wanna be big-time charlies like Argyle & Bradford who make the matchday experience fairly unpleasant.
I'd love to be in the Conference, a rich variety of clubs from small to big, a decent number of local trips as well as proper weekends away at Morecambe & Cleethorpes (Grimsby to the uneducated). Not all think like that, was with a bunch of Grimsby fans at Darts and the sheer embarrassment of having to change ends at HT reminded them they were now proper tinpot with the Championship and wins over the likes of Spurs now becoming a distant memory

Where do we belong? In Maidstone. Anything else is a bonus.

I wouldn't say it is cloud cuckoo land whatsoever to expect Conference Football within 5 years, particularly if the team is promoted today. Of all the clubs in non-league currently, only a handful of ex league clubs could claim to have resources greater than us. Our attendances even this year would look very comfortable amongst the Conference clubs and we also have a sustainable business model. The only thing that can hold the club back over the next few years is underachievement.

After all what is the worst thing that will happen if we don't win promotion today. OH yes we will have to play next season at the Gallagher stadium, plus MR Efit, I think the expansion of the ground would not be up to Conference level in five years, as even though gates are approx twice what was expected, I am sure that the directors would like to clear the debt's from having the ground built before risking all in expansion, and Terry, Oliver and Bill have amber blood running through their veins and want Maidstone United to be round for our grandchildren, and their grandchildren, not just to get as high as possible so soon, look at Crawley, made Div 2 and now the money guys have made there money and now are selling the club. TERRY, OLIVER and BILL are not in this to make money they are here to keep OUR CLUB going for as long as possible.

Not only that but the small matter of the Conference not allowing 3G pitches!

TERRY, OLIVER and BILL are not in this to make money they are here to keep OUR CLUB going for as long as possible. I stated the club at this time does not need to become full-time or make any financial risks on the park, we can easily operate within the current model and still put out a very competitive team without any sort of financial risk. Expansion of the stadium is an investment, not a risk, the last few games have shown the current capacity is no longer enough. Attendances are gradually going to keep on rising as the team moves up the leagues, which is inevitable. The club risks turning away fans now if they don't expand the capacity, even it is just another 200 seats in the main stand, something has to and will occur. The catchment area of Maidstone is very generous (over 100k) and being a one club town to continue to operate a 2.3k capacity stadium while the club is riding a wave of momentum cannot happen. I have no doubt we will compete for back to back promotions next year. It will be a little tougher of course, but the morale in the camp is sky high and the club will undoubtedly have one of the largest, if not thee largest budget in the league. At the very least play-offs. That said, I'm off to enjoy what we have of now, enjoy the summer boys and girls.

Our average attendance is 1700, we have only exceeded our capacity twice this season in games against Sittingbourne and Horsham, in the semi final of the play offs we were under the capacity and today we were at capacity, next season we will probably pick up a few more fans but the ground capacity doesnt need to be extended, I do however believe the town end stand needs extending to help the sight lines for the spectators but I believe the club are looking into this. Let's learn to walk before we try and run

Let's learn to walk before we try and run Sorry Toon but I think that it's quite naive to say that about exceeding capacity. I'm a season ticket holder and been at most games this season. Today's match & that on tuesday were officially at or around capacity but seemed a lot less crowded than some games where the attendance was quoted as 1800 or so. I totally agree with you about sight lines and have said this elsewhere on this forum

Not sure what is naive about saying we have exceeded our capacity twice this season, it is fact, I am also a season ticket holder and have attended every home game this season, I think my final tally of games I have attended this season is 45.
