I remember them singing songs about hating cockneys, only for us to reply "We hate cockneys more than you!"
I'm glad people liked my post. I was worried it might be a tad garrulous.

Thanks SP for that compilation of videos and you tube memories. I couldn't remember seeing the Halesowen one before, but being there behind the goal where most of us were brought back happy memories. All our first half goals were good, but the 3rd - pure class.

Dec 2007 - Heybridge
A long old haul up to Maldon for a freezing midweek fixture. Notable for being Chris Smalling's full league debut, but far more memorable was us not turning up with a fit goalie. Pat Mullin was apparently injured in the warm-up and we had no back-up. I was in the bar, so never knew this, and there was general confusion by fans stumbling out into the Artic conditions wondering who the Lee Shearer lookalike was?
There was a certain joy to be had as the Stones support got behind our new cult keeper and we went in at HT 0-1, but despite the new boy Smalling looking a half-decent player, we couldn't keep em out and went down 2-1. I can't imagine such tinpottery being tolerated today.

This is also my first season properly following the stones. I used to watch the odd game at Sittingbourne! But this season has been so enjoyable for me and my mate! We've been to see almost every home and away game! Always something to look forward to! I feel proud to be part of such a great club! For once I can properly support my local club! I will most definitely be purchasing a season ticket to further my support! Lets pray we get promotion today! I'm sure jay and the boys can do it! I will never forget the 1-1 draw at Dulwich earlier season! The atmosphere mad me feel like we had won 5-1!!! Thank you everyone and see you all later on! COME ON YOU STONES.
